Thanks so much for the fast response & pointers. Look like need to invest another SD card in order to download all Europe maps.

Sorry for the basic question: What is the difference between NT and NTU (unicode) versions?

I want to know if City Navigator Europe (Unicode) NT 2013.10 works with my Mobile XT 5.00.20w on WM 6.5.
The full IMG file is too big for its 2GB file size limit. Downloading and installing the full MapSource version would be a terrible waste of time and Internet bandwidth.
I really only need a small IMG file for testing.
Greece or any of the East European countries would be good (small file size, Unicode needed to properly display the foreign characters).
I looked around and could not find anything (the links in the quoted thread are no longer valid).
    Any ideas?

    maybe this is the answer

Unicode version can display cyrillic and some other languages characters, if you live in Est europe/greece and want map display the street names in cyrllic than use Unicode, anyway not all devices are supported, NTU update is mostly for new 2012 models and 37xx/2xxx models, in other old models you can have problems by searching address, even the map is recognized by the device in some search you will find no address, in other devices the map is listed on Map info but the device will not show it.

I must say, im running on Nokia 5800(s60), GarminMobileXT_5.00.50.
Aways runnining nonunicode maps, no problems whatsoever, respectfull to file size limit which results in smaller eu map coverage. Of course, map detail level to lowest.
Tryed newer versions but had problems like... to try to conserve battery shut down nav software, after restaring takes long if ever to find sattelites (even the satellite signal shows strong). Helps shutting down app once more.
For all those who have problem with the speed (slow) of displaying when searching POI-s imidiately after turning on the app, just image the mSD card and pour theimage back to mem card using tools like ghost. Restart the unit and that speeds up the proces since reimaging defrag properly. Applicable to every unit
