I have a 3790 T, why can't gmap3d in map/information see the name?
Hi
When downloading the individual maps for City Navigator Europe NT 2012 ans unzipping the file one gets a "gmapsupp.img" .
I have copied this file onto my Micro SD card (Garmin folder) on my Zummo 660 and it appears on the maps menu screen in the Zummo.
I have done this for Turkey.
This is great!
If I do the same for say e.g Serbia the extracted file is also a "gmapsupp.img". For obvious reasons one cannot have the same file name for different countries. I have tried renaming the "gmapsupp.img" file and also placing each "gmapsupp.img" in a entire folder with in the Garmin folder on the SD card but this does not work.
Is there any way of having more than one countries "gmapsupp.img" file on the same SD card or does one have to delete each country before using the next?
Any advise would be appreciated
You should download the Mapsource version and send the map parts you want from Mapsource to your gps.
Zumo mapping naming:
Internal memory (4 IMGs are supported) :
gmapprom.img
gmapprom1.img
gmapsupp.img
gmapoem.img
SD (just one gmapsupp is supported):
gmapsupp.img

The standard files in the Zumo containing your detailed maps are:
gmapprom.img = main map containing detailed mapinfo like CN Europe or CN USA etc. (Zumo 550)
gmapsupp.img = any additional maps like Topo(graphic) maps you loaded, or for the Zumo 450-500 series, the CN Europe/USA detailed map section. Gmapbmap.img = your global basemap.
On the SD card you can store another (different) supplemental mapset gmapsupp.img, giving you a total of 3 different sets of maps you can activate in your Zumo.
But what if you want to take more maps with you?
Well if you don't have acces to a computer, you can take more SD cards with you, each containing a different mapset.
Now what if you want to play with a lot of maps? Loading each map can take up a lot of time!
Then do this trick:
•Have a large SD card (like 8Gb)
•Load one map like Topo France on it.
•Go to the gmapsupp.img on your sd card and rename that file into TopoFrance_gmapsupp.img
•Load another map like USA CN, and do the same trick, renaming in USA_gmapsupp.img
•etc etc.
The only file visible for the Zumo will be gmapsupp.img. But if you need/want to switch to another set of additional maps, now all you have to do is renaming that file!!! This saves a lot of time as the alternative is overwriting each file each time you need another map.

The matter is size of internal memory in device. Nuvi 765 do not have a sufficient of internal memory for full JCV. So Garmin has uploaded a clipped JCV file for Nuvi 765. It is D3084040A.JCV. It have smaller quantity of JCV than full version - D2504070A.JCV. But D2504070A.JCV work fine if you find a memory for it! On sorcieremonique.com users discuss about this and another problem with invisible sea.
D2666060A.JCV is JCV for region of Western Europe only and the same as D2504070A.JCV for crossing regions! You can download it if you choose only Western Europe in MapUpdater.

You will then have just One Gmapsupp.img and you can then put it in your Zummo 660 memory card and it should solve your problem.
I have Joined Spain and Portugal and it works on a Nuvi No Problem.
I have tested D2504070A.JCV (approx 600Mb), D3084040A.JCV (approx 300Mb) and D3589020A.JCV (approx 120Mb) on nuvi 1200 and nuvi 1450. I did not see any difference between first two ones, but the third - D3589020A.JCV (approx 120Mb) - did not show up. My recommend for the 1200 series and 1450 is D3084040A.JCV.
