Everything is allright but...Mapsource only shows the map under 70Km map scale. No way to get an overall view of the whole area.

    Any idea about this?
    Thanks in advance!
Same problem as above on first setting unlock code but after closing Mapsource and then re-opening it worked just fine
Zoom level will show "overzoom" if your detail level is set too high. With detail set to "Lowest" I can zoom down to 120ft/36.6m.

The problem is that over 70Km (70Km...100Km...150Km...) I have no map whatever the detail level I set...

with your created version you haven't the function"search for address" on mapsource
image file is for device and mapsource for pc and device

    now to your question
open your created mapset.mp file with mapedit
    and change the zoom scale
About the mapsource map, I didn´t know it...kind of you, thanks for the advice.
I´m trying to download the new map but it´s a bit hard, too slow.
    Anyone got an alternate site?

    Cheers!

    Hi all.
Where do I place the files I got from the .rar, 3D, ASR, JCV and G2S on my garmin? I have all these files and need to load them in the devise. Thanx in advance.

EDIT: All is well. The junction view and lane assist work great on simulation. Thanx

    Hi.
I got confused along the way. The map that has junction view and lane assist is the one that came pre-loaded in the unit,CN Southern Africa NT 2012.20 all. This map is not detailed as compared to 2012.40. I tried every thing I could to get juction view with 2012.40 but failed. I even removed all the maps in the system and replaced them with 2012.40 but nothing.
Can someone walk me through in the installation of the maps and all necessary files to get it to work.

What are the other files for, 3D, ASR and G2S? Will they work in the Nuvi 40 because they were never pre-installed?
    Thanks in advance.

Are you using the JCV file that came with the 2012.20 map with the 2012.40? If so, dl the compatible one from this thread and place it in a "JCV" sub-folder of unit's .system folder, with the 2012.40 map image in a folder named "Map" in the root. You can use any convenient name in the Map folder eg "CN_NT_SAf_2012.40.img". If either folders doesn't exist then create it. Paths are like this:
    x:/.system/JCV/xxxxxx.jcv
    x:/Map/xxxxxx.img
You can also place them in the micro-sd, which is really the best place for 'unoffical' maps in case something goes wrong. Just remove the sd and problem fixed. Paths in sd:
    x:/Garmin/JCV/xxxxxx.jcv
x:/Map/xxxxxx.img OR x:/Garmin/gmapsupp.img (only gmapsupp.img will work in sd's Garmin folder).

Forget about 3D, ASR and G2S for your unit. They are for 3D display, speech recognition and traffic which are not used by Nuvi 40. See [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Info on your unit spec's:

Maybe have a browse thru here as well: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to bone up.

Failed to to see lane assist and junction view on the new map. I will use the NT 2012.20, it has both. I will keep the 2012.40 because its more detailed. Maybe I will try in future to get it to work. Thank you all.
