Hi 1300181,
If you want to try out the JCV to see if JunctionView crashes your US 1300 (it will for sure), take Type3 (1450/1350/765 406MB). If you want to save the extra download, just take the image only (Type2). Unrar the exe (don't run it!), open the Map Data folder and unlock the gmapprom.img with [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]. As you know from the other thread, the jcv file is very large.

Hi,
May i know what is the map release date for "FID 2504, City Navigator Singapore/Malaysia NT 2011.40" on type2 and type3 ?
Thanks.
Same .img map. Different size is because there is no JCV file with Type2, only image. The different release date for the one i just downloaded while i was replying to you, from the one i originally downloaded, is i think to do with addressing the traffic problems referred to earlier in the thread. I only tried the dl to check if the maps were back on the servers and when the dl started i replied to you. I added the edit afer i checked the header when the dl compled. I don't know if the map details are different. The locals might know more, maybe needs someone to try out the "new" map and report on traffic. Your 1300 needs an external FM traffic receiver for traffic to work anyway. Short answer for you is that whichever type you download now you will get the second one shown in my post above, ie date 02.12.11.

Thanks to you ... Neil.
Seem like if really want to use latest map then have to use map from Malsingmaps.
By the way, anyway to let my 1300 function in FM traffic?
As i said in my previous reply "Your 1300 needs an external FM traffic receiver for traffic to work". That means it doesn't have a 'built-in' FM frequency radio receiver to get traffic notifications, but you can add one. USB Traffic Receivers are available from Garmin retailers and probably direct from Garmin locally. Some info from US website:
Info on Traffic Receiver for SEA units (you need to check if it will work with your 1300 US, i think it probably will):Code:http://www8.garmin.com/traffic/

I'd been helping 1300181 out in another [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] and things got OT there which is why i answered him so fast over here. He admits he's new to this but seems to me to be a fast learner and maybe you local blokes can help him out a bit. He seems to prefer the new Malsingfree with header date 25.01.2012 (Malaysia Singapore Brunei NT) because it's newer. I notice its size is only 47,916KB compared to 91,932KB for both the recent CNNT's 02.12.11 & 05.01.12. Maybe differing compression i know but seems there is most likely less info in the malsingfree? Perhaps you could help him out with some advice there and also on whether it's worth messing around with fw to get sg/my jcv going on his us/eu unit as he's done the modded splash for it. Ta.
Back to traffic, which of no concern to me personally and probably not to 1300181 at this stage, but i was surprised to see that the more recent map on the server has an older header date. Thought it may have had something to do with traffic not working in the 05.01.12 but maybe there was something else and that's why it was pulled, not traffic obviously if it's still not working in the 02.12.11 reup. Map info looks the same apart from header of course, and 'ISM ISM 21450942 1' in 02.12.11 and 'ISM ? 21450942 1' in 05.01.12. Any idea what has changed there?
Hey kennedy.... Thanks! Will see what i can do to help him out...Quote:
