I have a Nuvi 3790, and loaded it with the new City Navigator North America 2013.10 and then installed City Explorer North America 2012.30 to the SD card.
The older City Explorer seems to work with the newer map.
It shows "powered by cityXplorer" in the "Transportation Mode" selection screen.

    Have done no other testing.

It would be helpful if you're mentioning anything about the CX NA 2012.30 package you're using, full or small.
If you use the full "complete map" with file size 294.2 MB everything is as expected in functionality. Otherwise with the small package at 12 MB one may expect that you would also need the matching City Navigator North America NT 2012.30.

I used the small CX NA 2012.30, what will I be missing with this configuration?

In theory you should have MMR data to match the City Navigator map elements. Maybe the data doesn't differ that much between CN NA NT 2012.30 and CN NA NT 2013.10 or that the GPS unit takes MMR routing and renders that on top of CN regardless of CN version? Normally I would expect that CX MMR data & CN map internal references needs to be coordinated and in sync.

to use this file you must have CNAM NT 2012.30 in your nuvi
Copy CXNA 2012.30.img along its CXNA 2012.30.unl in sd in "Map" folder (same name different ext)

    small CXNA 2012.30.rar (12 MB)

    COMPLETE MAP,
you can use it alone in your gps, no CNNAM 2012.30 is needed

Copy Full CXNA 2012.30.img along its Full CXNA 2012.30.unl in sd (same name different ext) in "Map" folder,

Which Cityxplorer file have you installed ? Small or full ? How many MB is it ?
Have you tried to simulate in one city , putting your position in it ?

edit :I add here instructions like I wrote in the latest CNE cx thread

So as it's a bit tricky for users ,a small explanation again:

If you have CNA map in your Nuvi use SMALL map, it wont appear in map list but it will work just adding cities EPM to your existing CNA.

If you dont have CNA map in your Nuvi use FULL cx map, it will appear in map list coz you'll have a complete NAcx-cities map in your Nuvi. (SMALL map with just MMR wont work without CNA map)

To test NA CX ,fix the satellites in the city or simulate in one of the cities putting your position in the city.

NACX .img name and .unl name must be the same ,different extensions- To make the .unl with JM Kg use just FID 800

Both files go in sd in "Map" (not "map" - not Garmin) folder
read threads , infos and links to infos are posted

Just read up as i suggested to you in answer to your similar post here [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and then it'll all be clear. Not all that technical once you grasp the basics.

I have CN NA 2013.10 on my nuvi 2360LMT. I have downloaded from this thread links CX NA 2012.30 full. I have unlocked and placed the two files (which I've named) FullCXNA_2012-30.img and FullCXNA_2012-30.unl in the \Map folder in internal memory. When I turned on the GPS, after disconnecting it from the laptop, it popped up a message saying to select the pedestrian mode if I want to use my newly installed CityExplorer. In the transportation mode screen it shwos Pedestrian Powered by CityExplorer. However, the CX NA 2012.30 map is not listed under My Maps.
I live in Broward county, South Florida which is covered by CityExplorer Miami. I switched to pedestrian mode and chose Fort Lauderdale International airport as target, which is in about 11 miles driving distance. There were only the Drive and Walk options in the route screen, no Public Transportation.
Did I do anything wrong? I know for sure I can take buses to go to the airport.
