After switching to night mode, I realized the skinny roads are not visible enough against the black background. So I had to use the unlocked & typ applied version. Way much better with the wider roads IMHO, too.
Anybody knows how to manually change TYP files? in case of future releases of RG.ph
here post n4

hi,
i got the RG_2.01_Typ file applied.rar and had it change to gmapsupp.img, then transfer it to my sd card. It's working on my nuvi but sometimes the vehicle is floating. Does anybody experience this?
Most (maybe all?) nuvi models have '[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]' enabled by default in Automobile Usage Mode setting. This keeps the vehicle showing on the nearest road, compensating for satellite position errors (if you are according to the sat calculation showing say 20 or so feet to the left of the nearest road, it will assume you are on that road and show you as such). I'm not sure, but perhaps enabling 'Off Road' (Tools>Settings>Navigation>Route Preference>Off Road) will disable Lock on Road. The other more likely answer is that the GPS is totally unsure of where you are because of a very poor signal. I've often experenced the vehicle floating off the road when using GMXT on my Nokia 5800 which has a notoriously poor gps receiver which would be hopeless without a-gps. Some maps are better than others with fixing you on the road, you may not have the same problem using [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] for example.Quote:
