CN India NT 2011.40 is 663 MB? It is 633MB, ok?

The file size for India_2011_40.img is 633 MiB (mebibyte) or 663 MB (megabyte). It depends on if you're using binary units like we do with computers or if you're using decimal units like hard drive manufacturers and memory card makers do. The storage industry obviously wants their capacity to look as as large as possibly by using 1000 byte steps despite the fact that we calculate in binary 1024 steps (2^10 = 1024) in almost all other cases of file sizes.Quote:

Microsoft uses binary MiB calculations in Windows Explorer but they writes it as MB. That might be a confusion.

The largest file size for a FAT-32 file system is 4 GiB and that's also the maximum file size for a readable Garmin IMG-map. One conclusion is that if you by a 4 GB (4 000 000 000 bytes) memory card then you can't store a 4 GiB (4 *1024 * 1024 * 1024 bytes = 4 294 967 296 bytes) file on that memory card.
