Should this show up in Map Info? How does one know that these maps are being recognized? I put the IMG file and the UNL file in the Garmin folder on an external memory card with GMAPSUPP.IMG (which is recognized).

EPM compatible devices use "Map" folder- Which device do you have? In other devices the complete CX map will show as a normal CN map part, other files wont add anything to CNNAM and will be useless- look at post 3 picture about CX features in different devices-Quote:

Are you saying I should create a 'Map' folder under the 'Garmin' folder for the CityXplorer.img and CityXplorer.unl files? At the moment, they're in the 'Garmin' folder of an SD card which had only GMAPSUPP.IMG prior to adding these. The GMAPSUPP.IMG maps show up in MAP INFO. CityXplorer doesn't.
How will I know the CityXplorer maps are being recognized by the Nuvi? At the moment, I don't see any sign of anything new or changed.
I've written it few mins ago, read it

Thanks, but I still don't know whether I'm to create a folder named 'Map' under the Garmin folder on the SD card. I created a CityXplorer.unl using the KEYGEN and it's in the Garmin folder with CityXplorer.img alongside GMAPSUPP.IMG. I get asked no questions when I power up the Nuvi, so the CityXplorer files are apparently not being recognized.Quote:

"Map" folder works in new devices like
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
if you read with care my previous post and the thread I linked ,you'd understand it perfectly-
The 2x5 is listed and says it will show as a normal City Navigator map part, showing just the Map and POIs-Quote:

It does not.
I created a new .UNL file just in case, and moved the .IMG and .UNL to the Nuvi's main memory, but it still doesn't show up as stated in your post:
Can other devices support a CX map?
2x5
Yes but it will show as a normal City Navigator map part, showing just the Map and POIs-
It does NOT show up as a normal City Navigator map part.
I got the 1450 so it has the enhanced pedestrian mode. I followed the instructions and within the gps it shows that cityexplorer is enabled, but I cannot get the unit to use the bus or subway routes for any of the cities supported by cityexplorer. All i can do is get a path from source to destination by walking only.
Is there a setting I have to enable on the gps to get the bus routes listed as part of the cityxplorer routing?
Yes it is and it is a bit tricky:
in the main screen top second from left touch the car/bike/pedestrian symbol and then change the "UsageMode" to "Pedestrian - Powered by cityXplorer" and push "ok"
Then from the main screen select "Tools" then "Settings", "Navigation" and "Transit Types", there you can select Bus, Train and/or Metrorail.
Note: first of all you have to choose "Pedestrian"-mode, otherwise you cannot select Bus, Train, ...
