I think you got me wrong. I know HOW to search the address, it's very easy. I'm able to search the address but when it is searched already and when you are already with the "MAP SCREEN WITH THE GO! ICON" I only see "Adb Ave." written there and not "23 Adb Ave." as I have searched. Can you please post a screenshot of that particular screen that I'm referring to?

Please let me know if you didn't understand what I just said so that I can explain more. Thanks.

EDIT: Here are pics to better understand my point:

1st pic when I finished searching the address:

    06232011509

2nd pic when I touch the Adb Ave. sign in the 1st pic:

    06232011510

You see the number 23 is missing.

Do you really think im gonna post a screenshot cos you're to dumb to understand how your gps works? read the manual.

I think you don't have the faintest clue on how this stuff works yet keep on pestering each and everyone with stupidities.

Your abundance of stupid questions certainly reinforce that idea...

Nice answer dong1432, you were very helpful. Thanks anyway. The forums is to help people. I'm sure you were once a beginner with a GPS device also. If you don't want to help, just don't! I don't need to read the manual because I know all the info there, it's a very short one. I know how the GPS works, all the features are fine but not just the search address which is my main concern here.

Just don't reply, I don't want to argue. This is just the main problem of Filipinos, you keep on bringing down your countrymen.

Your best bet when looking where to go is to find a landmark closest to your destination street, or the name of the building if you know it rather than the street number or look it up on google maps to get an idea and then point the gps to the same location. I get the same thing you do anyway on my 260w just to confirm no matter what number I input it will show the same location you did but this was expected. I think when we search a street number it is just ignored since that data is not available or not available on all our roads and pinpoints to the center or certain point of the road, which is why its the same point if you enter 25 or 175 adb ave, no change on the map. It's pretty much the same thing no matter what street I enter it always goes to the center of the street regardless of the street number I input. Just to confirm it's not our units I also tried it in mapsource and same thing (except it starts at the beginning, middle of end of the street depending on what you select) but this is what I've been experiencing since the early days of roadguide and don't expect it to change soon.

^This is also why you do not see the number 23 displayed on the map/address when you hit go, simply because it is omitted since it does not have that data on standby. Example: try it with and without the number 23.. it should pinpoint to the same location. Meaning default point on that street, most likely start, middle or end of street. Do this for other streets and you should see the same thing.

Just remember roadguide is a community driven map it is written and compiled by locals and not done by a company so we can not expect the features of commercial maps (like lane assistance, traffic avoidance/updates, etc)

EDIT: Street numbers are available it depends on the method of how you unlocked your map. Read the rest of the thread for further info.

If I'm wrong then someone correct me but this is what I've read before based on comments and experience on this map. There is just simply too many streets and time to input the street numbers on each road and much of Philippines is still very much incomplete with only the main cities and some provinces available. Right now their priority is mapping out much of the Philippines. Maybe in its later stages street numbers will become available but I doubt it soon.
Thank you very much for this information, this is exactly what I'm trying to point out since I started asking about this issue. I've tried different streets also today and we experience the same result wherein any number you input the device gives me the same exact location in that street.

I'm not complaining that RG maps have incomplete data, in fact I'm very grateful that Filipino people are contributing for these maps. I was just trying to seek for confirmation and to rule out the device as being defective or anything. The know-it-all guy that replied to me a few days ago seems to have a special kind of GPS device which can pinpoint Anson's building in ADB Ave.

How about City Navigator SoutEastAsis, does it support search address by house number? It's a commercial map so I'm assuming it can.

There are so many softwares having Philippines maps.
Which is the best - Nobody can tell.
Here you guys are talking about Garmin only.
What about Sygic, Papago, Ndrive, Igo.
The fact that some are good here and others better elsewhere.
Don't complaint when it is free.

AFAIK the City Navigator version is behind the RG and even probably the OSM since it's still in its new stage. Although this was the last time I checked things may have changed so don't take my word for it but even if it does have street numbers the other local maps are more readily with data and street names which probably defeats the purpose using CN if it doesn't have alot of street names or data mapped out. Maybe someone can chime in with more recent experience of PH the CN maps.

As I said before try to find a landmark, the place you mentioned Anson's is available in roadguide via POI (point of interest > spell) it shows up on ADB. The rg map AFAIK is the most detailed and up to date. Use POI or landmarks whenever you have trouble finding a place it's the next best thing and beats having nothing by a million miles. Almost every condo or many condos are already mapped out so If i need to search a condo I do so by POI, same with many subdivisions, malls and everything else. When you need a street number best to use POI to find the closest or actual thing and pick a landmark or building/bank/jollibees/mcdonalds whatever is closest to it I use POI way more than I use streetname, or I use streetname and then search nearby POI for the closest landmark I need to find nearest to the street number.

FYI Most commercial maps overseas have plenty of data available made from many years. E.G. GPS in the US and some EU countries is not new, and was available in the 90s.
The Philippines and google maps Philippines were only a few years in the making. As you can see this is a huge time difference from all that data that was collected not to mention several commercial companies vested. GPS in the PH is basically unheard of, ask maybe 20 people and only maybe a handful will know what you're even talking about and then even then maybe only 1 or 2 at the most own one (though thankfully iphone and other smart phones capable of using google maps have helped though usually limited to googlemaps without routing/turn-by-turn directions) compare this to overseas in the US where its common people either have it in their car, have a unit, or on the smart Phone.

Even the local vehicles sold here that have GPS unit built in overseas are ripped out here with most Pinoys not even knowing the same car overseas had it built-in the first place. Safe to say it's not widely available and in demand here compared to overseas, we have a LONG way to catch up but at least we are getting there and have gotten a massive amount of data collected these past few years thankfully collected by the local community which in much credit to them, has got us this far... without them we'd probably still be in the stone age with only incomplete parts of manila mapped out at the most. Google maps has been a big help too as a supplement to our nav here. The less demand for GPS in the PH is the reason were still behind, until it becomes mainstream many companies won't invest as much time or money into mapping and updating the PH compared to other countries where it's much more in demand and cost effective/profit margins, etc, so even though PH maps are commercially available we can't compare them to other commercial maps from overseas at this current time. Community maps for PH are the way to go with constant updates which many hundreds of locals mapping and contributing waypoints/poi, in their own free time.

Papago is actually older versions of the RG map that was sold commercially exclusive to this company. Only reason I'd use papago is if I didn't have my garmin unit and used my iphone as a backup/alternative. RG and OSM are the most popular because its compatible with GARMIN units, very easy to update on the fly and is the most detailed thats why everyone talks about RG for the most part and it's alternative OSM which is easier to get.
Not sure about those other brands but the reason RG is the most talked about for the reasons I mentioned. Most people won't really talk about the other maps until they catch up or get near the level of RG and then OSM.

RG map does have numbers in their address and it shows up in my 3790T.

Only 2 reasons I can think of why your unit is not showing up proper address.

    a. it was an effect of unlocking
    b. your unit is not performing as it should be

    Either one or both.
