    @catymag
    Many thanks for your prompt reply and advise on not to rename the files.
    It wasn't necessary, part 5 (last part) had a .zip extension so I clicked on that one and winrar took care of it. Too bad it doesn't work in eiither of my Nuvi's, a 670 and a 680.
    Since it exceeded the 2 gig limit the units won't recognize them. I can always try to rename it gmapprom1 and put it on the 670 snce it has 4 gig internal memory. I still think the results will fail since I'm certain the 2 gig limit applies to internal memory as well. I suspected it wouldn't work since Garmin site shows neither the 670 or 680 as being compatible with 2011.40. But it didn't hurt to try.

    Sorry itzbinnice this information is from garmin dot com..
    Starting with the 2011.30 version of City Navigator Europe NT, the map file size for all of Europe is now larger than 2GB in size. The following is a list of Garmin's older model unit's that support a SD Card larger than 4GB but are not able to use a Map file that is larger than 2GB.

    * nuvi 300 Series
    * nuvi 600 Series
    * nuvi 5000
    * StreetPilot c500 Series
    * zumo 400 Series
    * zumo 500 Series

    These units will not be able to use the following products:

    * Full Coverage City Navigator Europe pre-programmed card
    * Full Coverage City Navigator Europe Download
    * Full Coverage City Navigator Europe Map Update
    * A map file larger than 2GB loaded from MapSource or MapInstall

    I believe that one might still could get full coverage CNEUNT2011.40 to run, at least on the nuvi 300 series, by splitting it into two parts: gmapprom.img of <2GB, and gmapsupp.img with the remainder on a SD card. It would be good if someone could confirm this hypothesis.

    yes you can just try it and you will see so
    I use this methode for more than a year already but watch... dont use the same map name and dont take double areas. The system will either slow down or even stop...

    I Have a Nuvi 250 and a 4GB card. Will I be able to put the full 2011.40 version in or will I have to remove some maps. Currently I have 2011.10 on.

    Put the full version in what? The nüvi 250 or the 4GB SD card?

    You won't be able to get the full version in the nüvi 250 simply because the internal memory is not sufficient.

    You will be able to get the full version on the 4GB SD card and working in the nüvi 250. Make sure to name the map file gmapsupp.img and to create a folder named garmin on the SD card in which to store the file.

    I confirm, the IMG file has been put into SD card as smokefree described and it's working (nüvi 250).

    What is different in this JCV file compared to the one in the first post? For which device was it downloaded? It is only 333 MB-
