Could someone post some links for the unlocked IMG on MU or on one of the many other free file sharing services that do not require me to install another program on my computer?
I hear ya bro, but considering the lack of response, i may just wait until 2011.40 comes out in the spring. We're not doing much travelling in the winter anyways. Then again, i may just get a new unit which includes lifetime maps and traffic. If I do and I figure out a way to download the entire map onto my pc i will create a torrent and upload it to the usual torrent sites. They dont like posts to other sites here so i;ll have post elsewhere :/Quote:

Ok....I get it now. The .RAR files for the xxx2011.31.IMG files are contained in the .DLC files. Why didn't you say so? ;)Quote:

Catymag, is it possible for you to add these unlocked image files to the first post in the thread?
Why not just sandbox one of the two programs? Or virtualize one of the two?

I use Sandboxie here on my servers and on my lappys Acronis True Image Home 2011 includes Try&Decide. There are many programs like it. There are some programs listed on the link above.
:) Just be sure to save the d/l'd files outside the virtual environment.
I think you got it. :foot-in-mouth:Quote:

The links to the files that make up the IMG are coded within the individual DLC files that the program then uses to d/l with.
I will add the link to Ipmark post :)Quote:

I have a Garmin Nuvi 260W. Should I use an unlocked img or a locked img?
A locked IMG simply requires you to unlock it before use.Quote:

Of course, but wouldn't it help if accurate, complete, and updated information be included in the first post so people don't have to sift through all the posts...threads are also shorter too :smoke:Quote:

FWIW, I used cryptloader not jloader as trying to get it was ridiculous from their website and when I did, it didn't work. I use the GMAPTool to join all the maps together including Hawaii. But, my mapsource 2011.30 shows Hawaii just fine and Oahu when I zoom-in. This version from Texas Star doesnt have the detailed maps of Hawaii. I am going back to 2011.30
Another thing, we do need the JCV (Junction view files). Please post them.
BTW. I am working on a torrent right now but from the jist of things, it seems like there is less and less demand for Garmin NA 201x mapset files now that Garmin is included lifetime maps with most of the new units which basically eliminates the need for us to acquire the maps this way as more people are upgrading to the newer GPS units. :struggle:

This doesn't work for me. The file folder is empty: in Vista, Windows 7 - C:\ProgramData\GARMIN\mapsQuote:

I used mapreverse converter and batch unlock to unlock the maps for 2011.30. Pretty much all my Mapsource files are .img files and I have over 147 of them in my folder: C:\Garmin\City Navigator North America NT 2011.3.
Copying the gmapsupp.img file over won't do it. It has to be split up for Mapsource. I reckon GMAPTool will do this but I havent done it before and I am not sure of all the steps.
Sorry, but what are you trying to achieve?
After reading your post I am confused.
Why you use gmaptool to combine all files?
Which device do you have?
Why not use Mapsource to generate a gmapsupp.img without using first MapReverse Converter?
