Hi,
I have formated my 8GB SD card in fat32, created a "Garmin" folder in the root. I placed the "GMAPSUPP.IMG" file in the Garmin folder (no alterations to the file, used as downloaded from the .rar archive on the first page). I used Garmin Unlock Generator as attached (note: I chose "Garmin Mobile XT" as the software prodct). I saved the file as "gmapsupp.unl" in the SAME Garmin folder using notepad to create it.
When I boot the device I receive the following error:
"Cannot Authenticate Maps"
My Details:
Device: Garmin Edge 800Software: Software Version 2.0Code:https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=69043
GPS Software Version 2.70
(Note: I am not using Garmin Mobile XT, there is no software choice in the Unlock Generator for the Edge 800, is this a issue for me?)
I have not performed any MapSource or BaseMap procedure in order to get this work, after reading previous tutorials by Catymag, I was under the impression I did not need to.
Please assist, what am I doing wrong here?
Thanks alot,
Will

it's the same link written in a post above, try to read threads before posting, it's convenient and helps in solving problems
thanks
Using Fast IMG Unlocker resolved my issue, Thanks.
I did read that thread, I did not find an issue copying the map to the SD, except it was extremely slow using the Garmin device, i should have used a card reader.
Now that I have the Garmin Topo V3 map working, I am very disappointed in the detail of the map it is NOTHING like the screen shots Garmin show on their site, is it possible I am missing files which add the detail? or should I be looking at using OZTopo instead?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the map. I have a Question if you may know the answere.
First. Garmin topo has far more detail off road tracks than Oztopo, i ran them both in my 62s.
As far as issue with unlocking and operation..I had NO problems.
Now the only issue, I have a new 3790T Nuvi. when i place the media card in it picks up Oztopo map but cannot see the Garmin topo (yours) YET, both can be seen on the 62s so i know there is nothing wrong with media card or maps.
Lastly, even though the Nuvi can see the Oztopo map and can "tick" it on/off, yet with it ticked I can see no difference on the screeen, if i tick the CN to off this unit cant see any map...Q. i have read the Nuvi 3790t should be able to use these maps, What do you think im doing wrong??? any help would be welcome.
Hey Guys,
I have downloaded the files however have no idea how to convert them? Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers
Catymag,
I appreciate the upload...however I have no idea what to do with them now.. If you could quickly explain the process from getting them as the iso image to getting them onto my Garmin Oregon 450T? This would help heaps!
Cheers
Please read tutorials, they are made for that.

So I finally downloaded the file and put it on an 8g Kingston micro SD card and everything's great, routing and all. Yeah! But I decided I wanted the 8g card for something else, so I went through the whole process again with a sandisk 4g card and routing no longer works. Noooo! Actually that might not be entirely accurate, I am unable to progress through the "address" search function. It can't get past "Enter state or province". Can anyone suggest a fix or even a theory why this might happen?
I'm using a GPS 62s handheld.
hi, i only need GMAPSUPP file map for Australia? How can i get that? Please help as i am new to this stuff??
