V15 has FID of 3029. Any map/chart having FID over 2200 needs to be unlocked with [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to overcome GMA protection.

So, I downloaded the gimgtools. Thank you so much.

So do I still have to generate the .unl with the FID 3029 on the GUG v1.5?
Also do I just drag the .img file to the gimgtools and that is all I have to do to unlock it?
Sorry so many questions, I tried to read through the 11 pages of the gimtgools topic but for some reason my browser is extremely slow on that discussion.

just read this in starting post:
to unlock, simply drag the image file over the icon of gimgunlock.exe

No .unl is needed if the .img is unlocked.

I am currently trying to get this map VUS011R to work on my GPSmap 540s. Unfortunately I cannot even get the file to show up when I pop the card in. It is named gmapsupp.img and in the garmin folder on the card however it does not show up at all. Someone educate me as to where I have gone wrong.

Have you unlocked it with gimgunlock? Read post n.21

Yes. Drug this file over program and it ran through a series of commands then nothing. I had guessed that it worked so I had renamed the file then dropped it into the garmin folder on the sd card.

Are you sure the sdCard is formatted as FAT32 ?
Have you unchecked "Hide extensions for known file types" in Windows folder options, so that the file is shown as VUS011R.img and not just VUS011R ?
If you haven't and you renamed the file to gmapsupp.img, then the real name of your file is gmapsupp.img.img , a name that garmins can't read.

Yes. The problem was in fact that I was adding .img when it was already there but hidden. The supp map loaded upon booting up the device.
