Default Nuvi 3790T issues and concerns

1.) Is it normal for the device to have a louder volume/more clear TTS voice when it is plugged in to the car mount (external source) rather than when it is powered by battery?

2.) When I check the ODOMETER data while driving, why does it seem to be innacurate? It displays more kilometers than the actual driven distance. Say for example I just drove around 0.1 Km, the unit gives me a reading of 1 Km already in the screen! Is this normal? Or does the last digit in the speedometer data stand for a decimal?

Thanks in advance for your help

I don't know about your question # 2, but the answer to question # 1, I believe, is because there's a small speaker built into the Nuvi 3790's cradle. That speaker is substantially larger than the internal speaker, hence the louder and better sound quality. Also, there's more available power for the audio amplifier circuitry when the Nuvi is connected to external power.

My 765 is also louder when plugged in the mount, when on battery the volume is lowered to preserve more battery

About #2: odometer in car and odometer in GPS will be different- because of diferent tyre sizes for each car. But differences in some meters - not 100m/1km.
About #1: yes- there is larger speaker in car mount. And as i remember - different sound volume settings when mounted and unmounted.

I immediately looked at the back of the mount and indeed there is a speaker there, a better one for obvious purposes.

Regarding number #2, let me just confirm the rightmost number (which has color grey highlight) stands for a decimal number for the distance traveled right?
