    Default Metas for WinCE/NavCore 7 Maps (1005.X, 1010.X, 1011.X) - Where??

    Why haven't there been any metas for WinCE/NavCore 7 for a long time (950.X) for USA/Canada maps only?
    Looking for any of these and can't find.

    1010.{8950,8949},1011.9046 => {1005.8819, 1000.8672}
    1010.{8952,8951} => {1005.8821, 1000.8670}
    1010.{8892,8893,8894},1011.8979 => {1005.8767, 1005.8768, 1005.8769, 1000.8645, 1000.8646, 1000.8647} => Navcore 7

    I don't like the new interfaces in newer devices and prefer the old simple interface.

    The main reason is that there are very few owners of these older devices who (like yourself) insist on remaining with an old & outdated navcore who would bother to buy these maps & then create/share their metas.
    Really you have 2 choices, either sadly live with the few (some older) maps with metas for your navcore or bite the bullet & upgrade your navcore then you can run any map we have a meta for.

    There are still some metas available for very recent (v10+) maps of Europe on WinCE - just not for North America. Pity. Maybe there's a distributed GPU brute-force scheme that could be used to find a meta for a map.

    I use a different strategy for nav - Google Maps in advance, punch route in WinCE TomTom. WinCE will sometimes guide to a more 'interesting' route than the current most traffic efficient/accurate route. Newer Navcores suffer from distractions (flaky Bluetooth, zoom issues, and long load time on Android, buildings obstructing nearby road names on TomTom device). And no newer Navcore for WinCE. Simple is beautiful.

    I have also been noticing no metas for the more recent AU WinCE capable maps (despite NZ apparently getting them). Sad since I have two perfectly functional WinCE headunits and much prefer the classic navcore look of WinCE over the new 'better' layout.

    ...Is there a way to actually purchase the WinCE maps?

    So I'm not the only one with those preferences. Someone with a TomTom manufactured NavCore 7 device might be able to do a purchase. No idea. Could also e-mail TomTom and ask them to activate the newer maps. Another advantage is being able to use a vertical-oriented device v.s. the typical horizontal-oriented device. Can see many streets ahead and they're labelled!

    The problem is it looks like most of the NavCore 7 GPS models have been "un-lifetimed" by TomTom, it doesn't help that their list of revoked models only use the letter model codes, while eBay results always use the number model codes (since those are the only ones printed on labels, why even list the letter codes when it is difficult to determine what model yours is?).

    At this point I'd be willing to shell out for a Nav 7 capable GPS as long as it is verified it still gets the updates and buy them to help me and potentially anyone else who wants newer maps for their WinCE units.

    ...Anyone have a proper list of what GPS models/model numbers are/aren't still supported by official map updates?

    Yes, those are the lists I found. The problem is some use the 2 letter model codes (E1/E2/Z1/Z2/Z3 etc) whereas eBay sellers use the model numbers (Canada 310 etc).

    ...I do see the GPS part of a Toyota/TomTom Eclipse (looks like its the AVN2210p) in-car GPS on eBay. From what I can find out it is/was capable of Navcore 6/7.
    Problem is while it obviously isn't on the list of obsolete GPS it's as old/older than stuff on that list (it looks likes a One with a custom shell/connector), so it probably isn't updated either despite missing from the list.
    Also, the one on eBay is missing both its SD card and (more importantly) its in-car dock/radio. And then theres the fact people apparently had trouble getting map updates for it when it was new/back in 2010. Probably impossible now.

    ...Also those lists are far from complete. One example being while they list the Go 3x0/5x0/6x0/7x0/10xx, it ignores the 9x0 models, which are just as old as all the others.

    That's because the 910/920/930/940/950 all have <4Gb memory (which is TT's "logic")

    Love the effort/enthusiasm here. Compatible maps are still being released, just need to get them unlocked. The WinCE-guided journey is so much more interesting than Google Maps.
