Default Multiple map installs on Nuvi 3590 LM

    Hi,

I appear to have ended up with multiple installs of the NTU Europe Map on my Garmin/SD card. I've only ever installed using Garmin Express directly downloaded from the Garmin site and, as the map doesn't fit on the Garmin directly, I thought it installed to the attached SD card.

After the most recent install Garmin Base camp is telling me I have NTU 2017.3 installed on the Garmin AND the SD card and 2017.2 on the SD card. I have attached a screen shot of my Garmin's drive and the attached SD card. Could someone help me with the files I could delete - there are so many, I only want a single copy of the most recent map.

Also I now seem to have far too many Garmin Apps on my Mac:

    Base Camp
    Garmin Express
    Garmin Map Update
    Garmin Mapinstall
    Garmin MapManager
    Garmin POI Loader
    Garmin Webupdater

7! Base Camp I use all the time and Express for updates but the others?

    Thanks

I guess the extraneous file is gmapprom.img, 4.28 GB, on SD\Garmin
The Full Europe involves gmapprom.img (ALL North), 2.2 GB in internal memory + D6210020A.img (ALL South), 2.12 GB on SD\Map

    Hi Firefox58

Thanks for letting me know about the north/south split most helpful - is this new? Looks like the gmapprom.img on SD/Garmin is the NTU 2017.2 map that I want to delete. I can see now if I select the 2017.3 map on the Garmin in BaseCamp it's the North and on the SD the South.

If the map is gmapprom.img (ALL North), 2.2 GB in internal memory + D6210020A.img (ALL South) do you know what all the files are in the ASR directories on both Garmin and SD and the JCV folder on the Garmin? Has anyone ever given a breakdown of the directories and what they do?

    Thanks

CNEU NTU ASR files are 22 , for North and South + the srd files you have in your ASR directory.
JCV files are 2 , one for south and one for North maps.
You can remove the old 2014 SID files and the old gmapprom.img (+ its gmapprom.unl and .gma) from the sd.
Your installation looks complete and ok.
