    Hi All.

Does anyone know when the new Garmin g2 Vision Charts are updated?

    Thanks

    I assume you refer to:

    Code:

Not sure if I'm on the right track, but one way to implement this is to have the user connect the GPS unit (containing the map to be updated) to their PC. If the update concerns a map purchased on a memory card, then this card should be in the GPS unit. This way Garmin is able to read relevant data from the GPS or card (e.g. card ID number) which enables them to establish the date of purchase and therefore eligibility for the 12 month chart guarantee.

    Edit:
Since my reply, post #1 has been edited heavily. This places my response out of context. For a better understanding, here's a copy of the original question asked:

But how does the Garmin server know, or sense, that your card has been recently purchased or not ?
Does Garmin require you to email or Fax them a copy of your receipt and then they send you a link for the download?
