Why you need old map on your device?
Run garmin express and update to latest 2016.20.
I deleted the onboard img file on my nuvi 2445, would anybody have a copy? This is the map it came installed with -
City Navigator Europe NTU 2012.30, Western Europe - Map+HT+PA, Oct 11
I don't want to pay for map updates, I am happy with the original map.
I think you wont find valid links anywhere or uploaders for this so old map.
You can try and see if Webupdater offers you a download for your original map, but I doubt because it's too old.
Release date: City Navigator Europe NT/NTU 2012.30 --> 01-11-2011
if I download one of the updated maps from this site and install that will it restore the full functionality or is there extra stuff in the pre installed maps?
You can check what files you need by comparing the additional files offered with the current map to what was used by the NTU 2012.30 map assuming you haven't deleted them too. Look at these threads: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. If you want Junctionviews for instance, load the current splitscreen 212*234pixel D3048200B.jcv or you can also use the smaller 212*234 D373180B.jcv [less views] but not 212*234 D3589170B.jcv which is for nuvi xx range. Your unit can't use 3D Buildings and Landlmarks so you don't need the 3D map for further example.
In explanation of the initial answer, Loly was assuming you have a Lifetime Map version 2445(LM). I think 2445 was only sold in UK without LM.
