Do you mean a StreetPilot 2720? They don't have a battery at all, unlike your Quest 2 which has an internal li-ion.
Hello,
Anyone have a Garmin 2720 and replaced the battery? I would appreciate knowing what battery and how you did the replacement?
Thanks!

Yes, after doing more searching I found out the same. A person selling a 2720 call that out as a problem. I wrongly assumed it needed a new battery as I have not had a GPS that did not have an internal battery. I will also let him know what I found out.
Really don't think you should feel obliged to do that. Maybe he'll want more for it is he realises it isn't a malfunction anyway. It's not your fault he's misinformed about something he'll selling, he should have proper product knowledge in my opinion before he starts marketing it.

I wound up finding one locally for $40 with both power supplies & car mount. Updated the software this evening (same as my Quest 2). Works great and I like the larger screen. I don't like not having a battery but I can live with that. Can't wait for the RAM mount to get here!
BTW. The eBay seller didn't raise his asking price, glad he didn't get greedy.

Good outcome for you then, well done. 2720 is one of the best 'old school' garmin units imo. Much more flash memory than your Quest 2 as well, up to ~1.7GB for maps as far as i can remember.
