Default Reflections on glass screen on 2689

I have had several Garmin GPS's over the years going back to the Streetpilot 2610 (still my favorite and with the most features) until recently the 2595LMT. I just bought a 2689LMT, and in almost every way it is superior to the 2595: much faster scrolling on the map screen, faster route calculations, most controls are more logically layed out, etc.

However, there is one think I hate about it. It has the glass screen and reflections in it are horrible; it is like a mirror. I always see my wife sitting in the seat next to me when I look at it (which isn't a bad thing, but I really just want to see my GPS). Does this bother anyone else? The matte screen on my earlier GPS's were far more usable because they weren't like a mirror.

I agree it can be very annoying.
May be you can try an anti-glare screen protector.

Get a new (or used &#128515 nylon stocking from your wife and put the device into it so that the stocking is tight against the screen. It works very well and is cheap to replace when necessary.
