Do you know that you can download through MDM the complete Garmin Map Pilot from another car !?
If you feel like doing more testing ... you can try to get a VIN number from a car of this year and download the full SD card from that car through the recovery in MB download Manager.
1. Change the destination where the MB download manager will write to the hard disk, to be simpler to follow what is written on the disk and to take the CID that should be in the Garmindevice.xml file
Note - Obviously will only work with a VIN number of a car that has GPS and has already tried to update the card through the MDM.

I posted on here before the forum crashed, but for some reason my posts and account are now gone. I am in the process of purchasing a new Garmin Map Pilot SD Card for NA (2016) and will be getting a clone of it before using it in my car. I am willing to split the cost with some members here and share these files. I can also write instructions on how to download and install the maps on an SD Card (Keep in mind the SD Card must be a specific Samsung EVO SD Card since that is the only card you can change CID on). The process should take less than 15 minutes after you download the files. To make up for the cost of purchase, I am looking at selling the dump for $40, and then you would spend ~$20 for the SD Card. In addition, I could possibly charge you $70 to send you an SD card that is ready to use. Keep in mind this is only for North America as these are the maps I would be purchasing. V8 update come up. But when i trie to update it keep disconnect and reconnect sd randomly. Does anyone have this problem ?

It is v6.1 32gb card. I think it can be hardware or driver problem

Car is W246. NGT5.1
It see only fw update 6.1 to 8. My map is 2015 which is very out of date. We have to figure also how to update.
All the day i tried to update and finally (maybe after more than 15 corruption) it updated without problem. Love the new interface.
In addition can anyone use the traffic info. For my country i think it s not supported for garmin map pilot but other garmin devices are supported. :S
