I have downloaded few custom maps and tested each individually they all working fine, now i installed 32GB MicroSD card formatted with Fat 32 and put all maps on it together total 18 maps.
And my unit GPSMAP 62sc only shows 4 maps out of 18 i had on card.
Then i moved this cards outside of "Garmin" folder on card and it started to show another 6 maps that it was not showing earlier.
Is there limit on how many maps i can have at same time trough SD Card?
Also i had message "Cannot unlock maps" on startup when it displayed 6 maps, could it be when there is error in file name or activation unit stops loading subsequent maps?
P.S. Also i installed patched firmware for JNX support.
EDIT: after tossing some maps around i managed to load 9 cannot load more than that.
Also if i to copy any of TOPO US 24K maps on memory card, then they load over all other maps on the card.

Got it nice tool, it reports my sd card has about 5000+ segments in total that i think is problem as i read only 4000 allowed, will try to cut down the number of segments, but its kind of sucks that they did not make option to disable one map and enable another maybe with reboot, so you it only count segments of active map or some built in file manager would be nice. Device crying for custom firmware...
Thought i can have entire world recorded at once, but guess have to stick with multiple MicroSD cards for this purpose.
Hi,
It's not a question of map segments but of .jpeg pictures : only 100 .jpeg pictures will be displayed with main outdoor Garmin devices (for example, one .kmz with 100 pictures or two .kmz, the first with 60 pictures, the second with 40).
Montana (and may be Monterra) is the only device which can accept 500 .jpeg pictures.
To get rid of this limitation, buy or make yourself .jnx files.
I was talking about tiles for maps in IMG format not images or JNX files, just mentioned that i patched firmware for unofficial JNX support cuz i thought its bug in firmware...
Now abouut JNX files, do tiles in JNX file have same limit as in IMG files? i mean if i have say 2000 tiles in IMG maps and 3000 tiles in JNX file will my device show both maps and JNX?
