I have the Zumo590LM, at first it was still able to read some unlocked maps set, just after I updated the newer software 2.7, now the unit can't read anymore unlocked map files.
Anyone here encounter the same issue?

New firmware looks for digital signature in maps, unlocked maps don't have it.
You can find on forum some"patched" maps for new protected devices. Some recent topo maps for example.

Devices with protected firmware: Nuvi 55/56/65/66/25x9/26x9, zūmo 590, GPSMAP 64, Edge 1000
Edit: nuvi2598 is in list too.
Edit2: in newer nuvis devices and firmware , patched maps don't work too. But try with gimgunlock+mapsigpatch from: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

It mean still can be read after patched?
Can you please point out what is patched about, so that I can read and understand further. I tried the search but doesn't seem getting the right subject.
    TQ.

If the firmware upgrade has disabled your zumo from reading unlocked maps, it will still be able to use patched maps [and any Open Source Garmin-compatible maps such as OSM].

Nothing further will be disclosed regarding the patching of maps, please don't ask for more info.

As said by catymag, some patched maps are available here, tell us what you're wanting or look up the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for your required map and then in the thread for any postings of patched map. Not anywhere near all maps are patched/patchable at present.

I mean you can downgrade to the previous firmware if you have the gupdate.gcd, but it's not available because the previous one
was the preloaded software in you zumo.
You can try to look into your backup, if you did it, if the file is present, but I doubt.
If you have it please share.
