Default Bluetooth: Phone volume too low

How can I set the Bluetooth phone volume higher then the GPS voice volume? This is for Nuvi 765 or Nuvi 1390...
I need this because the GPS voice is much louder than the phone - I usually keep the voice at 70% but the phone needs at least 90%... The phone internal volume is maxed out already.

Maybe it depends on the phone, but using 1390 with my Nokia 5800 [don't laugh Android guy!] the volume of BT phone and navigation instructions seem the same.

In 765, maybe just using the FM transmitter setting would be easier to control the phone conversation volume using the car radio volume [not tested], and on Volume page there is 'Mixer' option to set Master, Navigation and Media volumes [also not tested].

Ah, yes the 765 has that option, but not the 1390. 765 it's in my wife's car, I might steal it, she doesn't need Bluetooth. Or does she...

Not a bad idea, if initially for the wrong reason. Try the 1390 with her phone if it's a different model to yours. The BT volume might be the same for her thru the unit speaker on 1390 as with 765. If she's no Caty, she won't even know the 765 has an FM transmitter anyway seeing you even forgot about it ........ good luck and don't forget to duck!

According to the Website TTS Voice editor can change the Volume of TTS voices on 1xxx (untested).

True, but he wants to increase the BT phone conversation volume, not increase the volume for the TTS voice ..... or are you suggesting he use TTSVoiceEditor to lower the navigation volume so that overall volume on the 1390 can remain at 100%? That could work as he uses it at 70% for nav voice, but as he has to use it at 90% now to hear BT phone that could then only increase by 10 or 11% overall. Also depends on the default setting in the particular voice i.e. if it's already at a low volume, which is unlikely i guess that it's set less than medium. Certainly worth a look.

EDIT: Checked Jack & Jill TTS2 for 1xxx. Default volume is 65 for both. Karen & Lee both 85. Daniel 80 and Emily 75. All with a possible range of 0 to 99. [Also not tested].

Yes Lower the Navigation voice a tad.
I got a feeling that It only works with "older" TTS voices. (maybe the ones that originally came with the nuvi 1xxx).
Sometimes throwing in a "red herring" gets someone else to take an interest and actually do the testing for you !

Stop pointing at me! I'm done with free testing for the moment.

Do you mean that TTSVoiceEditor only works with the very early versions of TTS2 1xxx voices? Is that another provocative 'red herring' to get me to do some testing? Well, it worked. Cranked Jack down to 25 from 65 saved it, re-opened it to check it was at 25. Put it in a 1390 after trying the original file at same 80% volume on unit and no discernible difference. Well played Tom Sawyer!

I was hoping that is a config file somwhere in the Garmin OS that I can change.
Oh, well, I think I'll go that route - lowering the TTS voices. I remember having updated those voices recently...
I am using mostly Jill. I see version is 3.40 and it's volume is at 65, so I'll go 40.
LE: Not to much of a change, but I'll use it for a test. Probably those numbers are a linear scale, I need to go 1/2 of the original to really make a difference (our hearing levels are logarithmic).
