Default Can't find map files on nüvi 2545

Received a second hand nüvi 2545LMT today. For the liffe of me, when using Windows Explorer I can not find the map files on the unit. I have enabled to show hidden files and folders. Also chose not to hide protected operating system files:

    y7q8

In Windows Explorer, the nüvi is not assigned a drive letter, like is the case with all of the other nüvi's I have owned (2xx, 2x5, 3xx, 1490, 50, etc):

    21x4

When I open the folder Internal Storage, I don't see any .System folder (like on nüvi's 1490 and 50) which is supposed to hold the map files:

    n6f7

When I perform a search for files on the unit with the extension *.img, no files are found (the search includes hidden files and (sub)folders):

    v6r7

What I also notice, is that the nüvi 2545 Properties don't show the usual properties like drive letter, drive capacity, used space and free space:

    0vyv

I tried to update the voice files on this unit, but there's not enough space. Therefore I'd like to replace the map file with a smaller version. But how to do that if I can't find it...??

Answering my own question here, but it may be of benefit to other readers who experience the same issue. In this case, again Google has been a good friend...

The 2012 nüvi models are treated as MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) devices by Windows Vista and later and will not mount as lettered drives like the older nuvi's. To change this behaviour, carry out the following steps:

    1. Power up the nüvi and go to the map view screen.
    2. Select the speedometer screen.
    3. Hold the center of the speedometer for about 10 seconds. This will open up the Diagnostics Page.
    4. Scroll down to MTP Settings and select.
    5. Change setting from MTP Auto Detect to Mass Storage.
    6. Click Save.
    6. Switch off the nüvi and connect it to the computer by USB cable.
    7. The unit will now be recognised as mass storage device and all files and folders will be visible. *)

*) In Folder Settings of the computer used, enable to show hidden files and folders as well as hidden operating system files!

Is there any reason to read this forum if you have a Google?

Once I found the solution, it became clear the issue was caused by MTP versus Mass Storage. Only then it was easy to find the solution(s) on this forum. I don't know why Google didn't direct me straight back to this forum in the first place!

Thread is nice, thanks, but it's almost a clone of the old ones in Index.
