Default jeep grand cherokee 2011 navigation maps

    hi
i have a jeep grand cherokee 2011 imported from the US and equipped with an indash navigation system which is running a Garmin software and loaded with maps only for USA , Canada and Mexico.
i am living in Jordan and i want to load the device with Jordan maps , i asked the local jeep dealer but there was no solution .
how can load the maps into my device ( if possible in details of each step)
what do i need to accomplish this thing?
i searched the web for the last month, but nothing to catch.
i tried to manage by going through the engineering menu, but i did not succeed.
note: the device model is RHB , 430N, uconnect Sirius.
    looking for your help.
    regards

I don't have the exact step-by-step procedure but I think it can be done, and the procedure may be similar to the following set of directions:

One of the experts here can probably give you a step-by-step based on the instructions above for you to try...

    -----------------

[Edit] I'm no expert but you can try this:

    1) Download the appropriate Jordan map file from:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    2) Create a folder name 'Garmin' without the quotation marks onto an empty USB flash drive that's >25MB.

    3) Copy the downloaded map file into this folder

    4) Rename the file to 'gmapsupp.img' without the quotation marks

Instructions below are copied and adapted from the referenced instructions found at the previously provided link above:

    5) Put car in run mode (with engine on or not)

    6) Turn all unnecessary features off (i.e. A/C)

    7) Leave your radio on (needed to recognize a USB is plugged in)

    8) Goto the Navigation screen

    9) Plug USB stick into vehicle, it will start Validating the USB stick

    10) When the update prompts, follow the menus

    11) Let the system update (few minutes process, if engine is not on, the car will shutdown half way through the process, you will need to put it back in run mode immediately, so ensure you stay with the car if you do not have the engine on)

    12) It will either give a Maps updated successfully message or Reflash failed message. Just verify that the maps loaded fine, but you should be GTG [Good-To-Go].

Hope this works... good luck! [/Edit]

The following link also indicates that "the key needs to be in the 'ON' position":

Even though that discussion involves an update of the 430N-RHB's Garmin software, looking through the contents of that update zip file that was used with an USB drive, I believe the map update procedure provided above should work. FYI.

Just one other note for you, after completing the map transfer from the USB drive, you might need to enable the Jordan map on the 'Map Info' screen--typically accessible via Tools > Settings > Map.

I realize this is an old thread... but were you able to get this to work? I'm trying to update my Dodge RHB, 430N, Uconnect, Sirius system.

I have life-time maps for my Zumo 660... can I get these files from there? I would like to update maps, junctions, 3D imagine, etc...

I appreciate any help you can provide me with.

I've got a 2011 Chrysler 430N RHB OEM nav/media system. Thus far I've had no luck with the downloaded maps and ASR, and JCV files.

My system has the "OEM City Navigator North America + Mexico NT 20111" I've downgraded my head unit software from 50.XX to 33.XX, I've read this is a must.

    I'm trying to update to CN North America NT 2015.20. Thus far I only get the map update provided is not compatible with your navigation system. I've gotten my maps from gpspower. I have also tried my Zumo 660 but didn't know if the maps would be compatible, I've tried though and failed. This is the file structure I'm using on the USB stick;

    <DIR> Garmin
    gmapprom.img
    gmaptz.img
    2 File(s) 2,368,666,624 bytes

    Garmin\ASR
    04CS1KAO.srx
    04CS1KAP.asr
    04CS1KAQ.asr
    04CS1KAR.asr
    4 File(s) 689,779,482 bytes

    Garmin\JCV
    D3060150A.JCV
    1 File(s) 854,876,229 bytes

I just don't get it... what am I missing here? Do you think it's the maps? I went ahead and ordered a Garmin 3590LMT yesterday which will arrive in a few days. From other information I've read this is a good fit for files.

Any help/guidance would be most appreciated.

    Thank you.
