Yes, I have used the excellent help from here. But the average owner of a boot looping Garmin is not going to have the skill or the knowledge to repair corrupted firmware or software. Usually, they will just replace it.

As usual ,who knows to use tools, Google in this case, has some advantages ;) Hard and expensive to live without Google lol.
Got my attention Dorothy. So where ya really from then? Maybe only you Yanks get the luxury of a drop-down selection box for your location, us Nether-Worlders have to enter it manually:Quote:

So, if you're not in Kansas anymore, where are you Toto?? :ahahah:
Spoken in the true Garmin spirit. Got my eye on you Glinda ...... [it's called 'built-in obsolescence' btw].Quote:
......... Ultimately, I guess the goal is to sell a new one rather than revive an older one.
Note for Caty: Where's my requested :joking: Smiley, Ma'am, have you done it yet? I could have used it here too ..... a :notjoking: one would be useful at times too maybe.
PS: Is it OK to call you a Yank? Southerners don't like that, do they? [where the hell's my :joking: Smiley, Caty?]
Better to do it at night when nobody looks and I can make mistakes and correct them before users realize ;) When just Neil and few aficionados Brazilians are logged :laugh:Quote:

Not sure i like being lumped in with the Brazilians, most of them are ok though. [see? a :joking: Smiley would work here too!].
I have a suggestion for Garmin, perhaps Redrock3 could pop it in the suggestion box at work tomorrow? [insert :joking: smiley here]. This suggestion: Please don't take MapUpdater & WebUpdater off us now that you [think] you've got GarminExpress working properly. Actually, that would guarantee that they will sh*t-can them for sure when they know the suggestion's come from here. Tell them that Noeman loves GE, it's a great program and we want them to get rid of MU & WU 'cos they're absolutely useless.
Now that should guarantee that will have them both fully supported forever. :notjoking: ;))
There is an epidemic of problems with power button failure on the lower end 40 and 50 nuvi series. I have literally seen hampers full of them returned. I don't have anything to do with the company but I have seen a returns dock (not in Kansas or Texas) and somebody goofed in this frail design. You basically have a piece of plastic melded at two fine points to the body. It does not take much at all to detach it. Its a pretty decent low end gps otherwise. It can load maps lightening fast - 20 minutes, as opposed to Tomtom's leisurely 2 hours.
I submitted my request for a named property search when searching an address, I drive for a living and many address in the uk have named not numbered property's.
A GUI editor so I can change the colors and locations of symbols.
Also include a custom page creator so I can better use the info provided that will better suit me...

;)
Let us use Mapupdater please, users are tired of betatesting GExpress, release it when it will work properly.
I only have one big complaint about all nuvis.
Why can't i have the speed limits red light and warning sound at 5 or 10 km per hour HIGHER, than the actual speed limit ? it's really annoying if the beep sound starts exactly at the speed limit, without any margin.
