    p.s.
    What hwid ( bootblk ) do you have?
    Sorry I misunderstood your suggestion. I understand now...

    As to your questions:

    No 'logo' listed on the Inventory

    No number besides 'Splash', just its status is showing 'Erased'

    Number next to 'Boot BLK' is 'B0827-00' with a version number of '7.60'

    Not sure of the HWID... just the Version Info shows 'nuvi 200W S3 P2 V6 2GB' with PCB P/N of '105-01392-00' and PCB Version of '6'

    Thanks for your offer but I'll have to learn to do it myself. If I run into problem and/or have questions, I'll be sure to seek your assistance. For now, lots of reading first...

    You can retrieve HWID in GarminDevice.xml in your nuvi, for example this from a 3790:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><Device xmlns="http://www.garmin.com/xmlschemas/GarminDevice/v2" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.garmin.com/xmlschemas/GarminDevice/v2 http://www.garmin.com/xmlschemas/GarminDevicev2.xsd"><Model><PartNumber>006-B1101-00</PartNumber>
    but it should be 827
    l9ebnsm
    You have to navigate to get to the good.

    Galaxy S5 Kitkat 4.4.2 / Nuvi1200->1250 / Nuvi3790T->34xx / Nuvi 2200 / Nuvi 66 / Oregon 600

    Thank you for your excellent and fast input. Based on your cited example, then you're indeed correct. My XML file showed the following:

    <PartNumber>006-B0827-00</PartNumber>

    CAUTION: Your so-named '200W' is not a usual 200w. It's the innards of a 205W in a 200W case which Garmin so thoughtlessly thrust on the market for a short time about 4 years ago. This is confirmed by your HWID of 0827 and PCB P/N of 105-01392-00 and the FW verion 7.60.

    You should reflash the logo as Loly said before you end up with more problems. But be cautious flashing a 200W logo bin as your unit may actually use a 205W logo. Best to extract your present rgn16 so that we can see what it is, even though it may be damaged it may still be able to be identified. Use this kit to attempt extraction: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Unzip it onto a clean SD card and then if it works post the file named 16_backup.bin which will appear in the root of the card if the extraction is successful.

    Garmin, how much is 30 pieces of silver for Judas today? Were they worthy for crucifix of GPSPower?

    I'd suspected this 200W-205W identity mix-up awhile back when I updated its SW initially. With the update, I'd audio directions with street-name all of a sudden after the update. Its case is labelled as a 200W--but 200W is not supposed to have street-names. I never gave it much thought--just happy with the added feature.

    The region 16 seemed to have been successfully extracted but I cannot upload it as an attachment to this post. Keep getting the following error:

    16_backup.bin - Invalid File

    The bin file shows as a 512KB file. Anyway, I give it another try...

    [Edit] Tried the extraction again, and the file seemed to have been extracted OK but I can't attached the file to this post--maybe because it's a bin file? Anyway, I uploaded the file to MediaFire at:

    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    [/Edit]

    [Edit2] Viewing this extracted file with a hex editor shows that my 200W's Region 16 doesn't seem to contain anything--no logo at all, thus the erased splash status? [/Edit2]

    Thanks for the input but no difference--still no pic on power-on.

    [Edit] Forgot to mention that I only had one POI file, 006D135900.gpi (1,132KB). I don't have a SD card in the unit while the GPS is in-use--not needed in my application. [/Edit]

    It certainly is the correct size for a 2xxW logo.bin file at 512 KB [2x5W is 398 KB], but it's corrupt. GIR_Editor doesn't recognise it as a logo bin but opens it and then cannot find any images in it. I haven't bothered to look further at it for that reason. If you are game to flash it, here is an rgn file made from HWID 0827 boot.bin and a good 2xxW logo.bin: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Drag it onto updater.exe and flash it in preboot [but the risk is yours of course ]. Back up your internal files and most importantly NV if you haven't already done so before you flash this file. Hard reset before and after.

    PS: The reason you couldn't attach the file is that it needed to be compressed first as a rar or zip. And yes, 2xxW doesn't support TTS. Yours is a 205W in all but name but i thought it didn't have TTS either. If you lose TTS after this we'll have to look at something else.

    Thanks for the custom 200W RGN file. I was in the process of creating this file myself last night. However, I'll have to do some more reading and understanding before deciding to flash or not. The unit is working as-is currently without any problem, and the start-up pic seems to be just a minor issue for now. The down side is losing the TTS capability which I prefer to preserve if possible.

    I've already backed up everything recommended. Just to be sure, when you say backup NV, this means just the extracted content of Region 41 (which I've already done last night), right? Thanks again!

    Here you have pack for flash over SD:

    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    If you have folder Garmin on SD rename it to Garmin1

    Extract rar direct to your SD

    add SD in your nuvi and turn it ON, when process is over you will have Garmin logo picture and TTS enabled.

    Now delete folder Garmin from SD and rename your garmin1 folder to garmin
