    help Low Space

    I have a nuvi 765T and the internal memory is only 3.65 GB. I'm updating the map to 2013.40 and getting low on space, 239 MB free . The following files take up almost all the space gmapprom.img (1.12 GB) and gmapsupp.img (1.83 GB). I don't have enough space left to put the D3060090A.JCV (756 MB) on it, but I do have a 7.39 GB SD card. Can I put the JCV file on the SD card? If yes, all I need to do is create the folders on the card (X:\Garmin\JCV) and copy the JCV file? Or should I delete the gmapprom.img file? What is best route to do this? Thanks.

    G'day again. Yep, on SD. x:\Garmin\JCV\*.jcv. I suppose the big maps is CNNTNA, what's the smaller one? With gmapprom naming that's probably an oem map, it's not a really old NA is it? If it something else, you could also move it to the SD in a Garmin root folder named gmapsupp.img. There can be 2 maps in there for 7xx, the other named gmapsup1.img. You've got some crazy-old modified dates on some of those files.

    BTW, this info could have been found by searching [that's the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] i mentioned].

    gmapsupp.img is the new map 2013.40 and gmapprom.img came with the GPS, I think is like 2010. Is there a way I can update all those files with the old modified dates?

    Every map release (*.img) works along its own addition files and addition files wont work with any other previous release *.img

    If it's an old NA, delete gmapprom.img along with the unlock files gmapprom.unl and gmapprom.unl.old. Also ditch the old JVC file and then dl the correct matching file for your current map from the NA thread, as Caty said any old additional files won't work with your new NA map. It looks like you've grabbed the current gmap3d.img by it's date though. You can delete any old *.sum files too, they're not needed. If the files and folders showing modified year of '99' aren't causing any problems in the device's behavour, don't worry about them. Millennium bug strikes late? ... lol. If your nuvi acts strange just hard reset it as first aid. You should do that occasionally anyway and always particularly before and after fw updates. Backup favourites etc first.

    I do not understand you. Simply put the Maps on SD Card and the problem will be solved.

    @zakon
    In post #2 i told him how to relocate maps to SD card which is what he asked in first post, but that's not and never was his problem really. It's because he had 2 versions of CNNTNA on his 4 GB internal drive and that's worse than pointless because there could be conflicts if both are enabled. He already has the new CN & 3D in place, but had an old JCV file. Delete the old NA, some other junk and the old jcv, replace it with the current jcv for NA and he's set.
    Whether he puts the new jcv and other maps on the unit or on his 8GB SD is now immaterial 'coz he's got the space in both.
