    Default Nuvi 3790T Demo Mode

    hello ,
does anyone here know how to exit from the Demo mode on the Nuvi 3790T. I have tried this while exploring the unit but i didn't realize it would be this painful to get out of this mode. the help button says i can only exit from it when i have driven the gps after getting a satellite lock. but i can't get the simulation on to off to be able to get the satellite fix and i couldn't turn on the gps. i tried hard reset as well but still it always starts with the demo mode. any help will be appreciated. thanks

According to the following link, you need to remove 0:/Garmin/demo/demo.srf to disable demo mode.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
If you can access your device's internal flash drive, then you're ok. Otherwise you can use GarminCure3 to access it. Or you can use update.txt script, as suggested in the topic above.

    UPD:
Also, if you find GarminCure3 too complicated, you can try this way of entering into the mass storage mode: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
It's really quick and it definitely works on your device model.

Go to developer menu - go to volume menu and press upper right corner for about 10 seconds - and switch demo off.

Probably if you drive with your nuvi in a car, it goes out of demo too, but you need to drive for some time with some speed.

Just had a little Nuvi 205 that defaulted to a loaded "demo" script. Looked in the file structure and could not find it. Looked again. Someone either from the company or a dealer had weakly glued a micro SD card into the SD slot with the 480MB demo script on it. Came out easily and it's demo no more.

Did you save a copy of demo for Nuvi 205 for upload here?
