You haven't understood, really. I haven't said that it's "no problem" to add ASR support to 7xx for us. What I've said is that hardware differences and OS differences don't prevent Garmin from adding ASR support to 7xx firmware. They just don't want doing that.

I've written that because your message sounds like it's fundamentally impossible for Garmin to add ASR to 7xx. It's impossible for us, not for Garmin.

Sorry that is interfering with your sacred trolling, but for modding the firmware to that though what that is as close to the Garmin platform\firmware\hardware stuffing was necessary functions.
    As with the 1490 and 1300, or 3760 and 3790 and 3490. 205W and 465.
800 Series has very little to do with the 700 series, so in this case, the logic of modding is not suitable.
Given the closeness api\code - the economic feasibility of developing a zero to zero OR nonsense

Is your message dedicated to me? If so, then I there's no need to explain obvious things to me. Moreover, if you carefully read this [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] you can deduce the following facts:
    1) Nothing prevents Garmin from adding ASR support to 7xx.
    2) Porting 8xx software to 7xx hardware is too hard for us.
    3) We can't activate ASR support in 7xx firmware, as the necessary functions are absent.

So, why would Giomen [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]? I said the same thing as he did, plus I added facts (1) and (3), missing in his [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

    Question:
"So, why would Giomen argue with me? I said the same thing as he did, plus I added facts (1) and (3), missing in his post."

    Answer:
Because Giomen and Kunix will never Agree and Will look for any opportunity to disagree.

No disrespect to Kunix or Giomen intended.
I am just answering the question.

kunix No, my message is addressed to the author of the topic. I expressed my opinion on this matter. And it's the same as yours.
Certainly Garmin corp. may add any features, but it never does.

I currently have a Nuvi 855. I saw some reasonably inexpensive nuvi 700 series for sale and thought it might be able to turn them into ASR functioning units by copying some files over. I realize from the comments received that it is not possible because they have significant differeences. Thanks again for the feedback.
