Once you get the small map screen on the right just touch the map and you will see the map zoomed in.
How do you exactly do it?

For example, I set up a route, a Point of Interest in this case and I'm already at navigation mode (where the route is pink). What do I do from there?

    In 34xx is:
On map screen in navigation mode ,touch the 3 bar icon, click on Where to? then Coordinates/View on Map .
From there you can pan the map.

You have to navigate to get to the good.

    OK your are navigating.
Press the back arrow bottom left.
You are now at the Where to View Map screen
Press where to Coordinates or Where to categories coordinates.
    Press View on Map
Once you see the Map touch the map.
You will have a zoomed in view.

It is too complicated. Easier to flash 34xx firmware. It could save your life.

What do you mean? What advantage does flashing a 34xx firmware over the 3790US give?

While navigating you can browse map around your current position with a single screen touch.

Garmin has never finished development of 37xx. It is kind of beta device with problems, that won't be corrected any soon. Most probably developers were moved to work on 34xx and don't have time to support old device. You can treat firmware for 34xx as a continuation and final release for 37xx.

Yeah, but when a single screen touch while in navigation mode I can browse the map in ZOOMED OUT view which is very hard, yes?

Ah so I can flash a 34xx firmware onto my 3790US device?

Zoomed out view needs 2-3 touches on any nuvi, but for me it is unusable for navigation.
