An unexpected error has occurred and the program will close. If the problem persists, contact customer support garmin.
thanks garmin!
Can you look at your Setuplog.txt ?
in C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Map Update
I fixed the problem by using a free CCleaner program before starting MapUpdater.exe to updates map.
sadly i did a search , did not find it , used total commander to find , nothingQuote:

but garmin map updater copied the 4 sid files , and but no jvc file
even it did not prompt to use an sd
but my nuvi model is in the list of the new 2012 products
the garmin map updater updated
gmpprom.gma , gmapprom.img ,gmpprom.unl.gmaptz.img
4 sid files
and before the error it did empty the tutorials folder even my language folder
i'm really very curious about the new updates , i guess i will have to throw away it my nuvi
but these sid file are so important? map uploader did prefer them then the jvc files!
thanks
cheers
Or you can manuali go to: C:\Users\yourname\Locale settings\temp and delite all in this folder :)
@rossana
On xp is setuplog.txt in C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Application Data\Garmin\Map Update\
But on PC you must set to show hidden system folder and hidden folder.
thanksQuote:

I can suggest 2 things,
Try another Computer.
Take your unit to Garmin.
had this problem yesterday ... solved it the somple way ... deleted the current map in /.system/ and then installed the update
