    Default Map Selection?

Hi I'm new here. So I'm sorry if this is daft question!

I've finally fumbled around and manged to create my first few maps in kmz format.
I was wondering is there some way I could have several maps on my Oregon 450 and select which one I require at a time and disable the ones I don't want to use?
The problem I have is that the gps comes up with a warning about to many map tiles when I turn it on?

Thank you in advance for any replies.

    Hi,

If you have several .kmz installed on your GPS, the whole will be displayed (you can't disable any).
Oregon is limited up to 100 tiles (.jpeg) for .kmz : you should have more in your device, that's why you get this warning.

Thank you sergio2 for your reply.

I see, I've been using my memory-map map and exporting the image as a bmp file.
Then I used a MAPC2MAPC to create my kmz file.
Looking at my kmz on GoogleEarth and counting the tiles, they were as you said over a 100.

Just played around and worked out that as long as the bmp has an Easting of about 20km and a Northings of about 6-7km, I get just under a 100 tiles!

Just got to find a program now where I can make an img file from a bmp file?
Would this give me a greater area coverage?
Also would I loose some map quality if I could create a img file compared to the limited tile size of kmz file?

Thanks for any thoughts on these questions

Use JNX format for this purpose.

Giomen is absolutely right. JNX format maps are much more versatile.
