Default Multiple maps on Montana internal memory

I want to load multiple maps (1 Marine, 1 Topo, and 1 Citynav) into the approx. 3GB internal memory of a Montana. So far I have gmapsupp.img (the marine map) - but when I add other maps (e.g. regionx.img) they are not opened properly (perhaps due to naming issues).

Is it possible to add multiple maps to the internal memory or do I have to put the in an SDcard?

Try the two rest of the way

    1) Only gmapprom, gmapprom1 and gmapsupp names in internal memory of device.
    2) Only regionx.img names in device and SD.

On the Montana gmapprom and gmapprom1 as image names does not work for maps loaded in internal memory.

I get a "Can't Unlock Maps" notice on power on, which I can press OK to and use whichever map is named gmapsupp. I will try more testing tomorrow but in the meantime I have ordered a new microSD card.

"Can't Unlock Maps" notice is because a map is locked, nuvi sees it ,so the naming is correct ,but it's locked (no.unl).
"Cannot authenticate map" notice ,if the map has FID greater than 2200.(lack of .gma)

I thought that at first but the maps are unlocked - I can view them in homeport and gmaptool.

Homeport can read locked maps too.
May be a map isnt completely unlocked? May be a 3d map ? That message is indisputable

Ah, I didn't know that. How can I check if a map is properly unlocked or not (apart from on the Garmin device)?

Giomen - I put the map in the Garmin folder.

Catymag - I put the (unlocked) img file I had through the unlocker again and here is the start and end of the Gmaptool info log. I can't see where it says if it is locked or not.
