Default mac user having trouble with gmapsupp

I'm running Lion. I downloaded Mapinstall and Mapmanager. I have a gmapsupp.img file of Ecuador that is about 24 MB. I copied the file to the garmin folder in when the garmin mounted.

However, it does not work. I feel I am not doing something right or the instructions are written so I can't understand them. Most of the stuff is for Windows.

    Can someone please help? Thanks.

Which unit ? If it's a new one rename it to Equador.img and put it in a "Map" folder in .System directory
    Take a look at tutorials
