I think I stuffed my nuvi `1390

Hi, I have a nuvi 1390 in New Zealand, which contained the CIty Navigator AUstralia/Nz maps, it had version 2011.3? from memory, I have another 1390 which has the official life time map update , I downloaded the 2012.3 official map and copied the map and unlocked it using the key generator and then transferred from mapsourse directly to the nuvi itself.
I tried to reboot and it hangs at the garmin logo, so I used google for solutions and have connected it to two different computers using two different USB cables no joy, so tried to push on upper left corner and connected to the pcs and it powers up to the Garmin Logo and it makes a noise like it was detected and about 20 seconds later it makes another noise like its disconected. One time it detected the nuvi on the Pc and when I tried to get it seen by Web updater it disconnected itself.
I think I have stuffed it. I should have updated the firmware before loading the actual map on to it I think .Any help appreciated
