    Default Garmin Audio Codecs

I have a Garmin 1300 and understand it does not have mp3 capability, however the voices are in ogg audio and wav files work in it so presume it has an ogg codec and also a wav codec on the device.
Would it be easy to add a mp3 audio codec to that also to make mp3's work?
I have looked at the system folder but cannot see any codec folder so guess they are hidden, but is it possible to add another codec?

Interesting question. Don't think the codecs are in the memory of the unit and are possible to be changed to support mp3. I think they are coded in the FW. nuvi 1xxx can support .mp3 but AFAIK the only ways are by using different FW e.g. asian one (popular method) or custom FW.

Why do you want an MP3 codec on the GPS?
