Garmin Montana uses the same basemap (gmapbmap.img) as most other Garmin units - [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

If you instead are looking for the Montana 650t pre-installed Topo "Recreation Map Europe" - [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Nobody has uploaded the similar file from a U.S. 650t but this should be close enough - [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

I installed 2012.40 on my Montanna 650t and it keeps saying "kan kaart niet valideren". My MapSource is patched and the img file too. Can anyone help me?

The problem is related to the Garmin new GMA protection.

    - "Garmin GMA protection and the "Unauthenticated" status
Upgrading MapSource to a the latest Garmin original version will NOT remove any of your unlock keys. The problem is that all maps having a MapID >= 2200 will get the "Unauthenticated" status. That status means that they are unlocked correctly but lacks the new GMA digital certificate to authenticate your installation as a genuine licensed map installation.
The solution is to use the patched versions of MapSource, MapInstall and also BaseCamp."
    With kind regards Saoe

Question for those using the Montana on motorcycles....How is the touchscreen sensitivity and ease of operation when using it with gloves on?

The solution is to use an unlocker , even if you patch Mapsource ,transferred maps with FID greater than 2200 will have "Unauthenticated" status in gps-

No problem with the touchscreen sensitivity but you will have a problem with keyboard input!

I have had my 600 for about 3 months & have had a few issues..crashing, locking up but in general on the motorcycle (1150GSA) it has performed well & the screen is real easy to see in bright sun. As to glove operation, not a real problem, sometimes you get the wrong item but 'Go Back' & try again. As another member said...keyboarding is not going to happen.
