Default 32 bit vs 64 bit

I did search some but did not find my answer. Is there any issues using a 64 bit system rather than a 32 bit system. I am trying to install a mapset on a PC that is 64 bit and connot get it done, using same files on a 32 bit and it is fine. I have split an image with Gmap and ran install on both systems using same img file to begin with but will not load on 64 bit. Gets to where it should complete the install and it stops and says "compiling preview map" , opens up gmaptool and has a file "mapset.mp", but does nothing, let it sit 20 mins. Has an error in log that says "wrong header"

    Thanks

use Gmaptool last version, it shouldnt have any problems with 64 bit

I did go through all the steps of "Use Gmaptool to install maps images in Mapsource" and also checked for lasted version of GmapTool, using GmapTool 0.6.0.2954ß following are screen shots of problem

when running GmapTool it stops here and does not go any farther, I dont know why it pops up the dos window and also the file page?

After splitting using GmapTool [even though it does not finish correctly] there is an install.bat file to run but this is where it stops.

Gmaptool needs cgpsmapper to finish this action. You can find free cgpsmapper here:
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
Install cgpsmapper and write its exec file with path in "Options" tab of gmaptool.

I think that 32-bit tools on 32-bit environment is stable. My experience is that the 64-bit Windows and updater.exe do not work well
