    Default Nuvi 3790t maps question

    I downloaded the CN South East Asia img file and unlocked it with Fast IMG Unlocker. Transferred it to root/maps folder with filename gmapsupp.img and my device succsesfully recognized it. But when I go to Inventory, that map is under a type of "gmapsupp????". The "gmasupp" above that says "erased". Is this normal?

    In "Map" not "maps" folder you must use anyname.img ,not gmapsupp.img,
    gmapsupp.img is recognized probably just in sd "Garmin" folder, just one in Garmin folder, in "Map" folder you can have many anyname.imgs.

    Thanks for the info. I will read those threads asap. So this inventory is normal:

    06162011508

    ??

    Notice that the CN_SEA_NT_v6.50_ALL has a name of "suppm...". What does that mean?

    Suppm... or Suppmap means Supplemental Maps.
    Would you mind to share the TimeZone Map, it's version 8 and its called on your device gmaptz.img

    Edit: Got it, available here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    Yeah, so what's the difference between "suppm..." and Suppmap? Why does the Suppmap field have a "erased" value and CN SEA is listed under "suppm..."?

    Sorry, I don't mind sharing it but you got it already before I read the message.

    Are DEM maps specific for each country as well? Or does it apply for the whole world?

    @kevindd992002

    My guess is that "Suppm..." is an abbreviation for "Suppmap 2" or supplemental map 2. Possibly stored as "gmapsup2.img".

    @Ballebar

    This is my guess also but I'm 100% sure that I save it as "gmapsupp.img" under the Map folder on the root directory of my 3790T. Why is the device detecting it as "Suppmap 2" in the Inventory?

    Based from the info of catymag in one of the links posted above:

    diagnostic utility first page displays internal
    memory maps

    Nuvi internal (diagnostic utility) OS map naming

    1. PROM1 = gmapprom.img
    2. PROM2 = gmapprom1.img
    3. Suppmap1 = gmapsupp.img (nuvi drive only)
    4. Suppmap = gmapsupp.img (SD Card drive only)
    5. Dir DB = gmapoem.img (OEM POI data map)
    6. Basemap = gmapbmap.img
    7. TZMap = gmaptz.img
    8. 3DMap 1 = gmap3d.img
    9. 3DMap 2 = gmap3d1.img

    sd maps should be in second page

    ***I'm not sure if I understand it correctly but I think my case falls under "3. Suppmap1 = gmapsupp.img (nuvi drive only)" and "suppm..." means Suppmap1 which is just right because I stored my gmapsupp.img in NUVI DEVICE and not in SD card. I hope I got it correctly.

    Also, the POI USCanadaCylopsSample.gpi gives me a status of "Error" in the Inventory, why is this?
