    Default How to install multiple Garmin CityXplorer maps on one SD card?

    I own a Nuvi 775T unit, with all maps installed on unit memory.
    I want to use CityXplorer maps I have downloaded using this forum, but on a single SD card, not to change every time I am in a zone with relevant SD. One for al cities.

    How should I copy the image maps (*.img) because all have the same name?
    Each in a separate folder under Garmin base folder?
    Or all image maps under one Garmin folder, but change each map image name?

    What I have noticed that MAP ID for some cities are identical (ex. Helsinki, Madrid and Rome). How should my unit know for which maps are the unlock codes?

    Any help apreciated.

    If you first search the forum or look in the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] you will find some ideas.

    The maps don't have the same complete MapID, just the same FID & PID data in some cases. The complete MapID is also with RgnID & VenID. Normally if RgnID = 0 & VenID = 0 when generating a key it unlocks all RgnIDs & VenIDs. cityXplorer maps uses PID = 2 for enhanced pedestrian mode data. The nüvi 775T can't use the enhanced pedestrian navigation mode and uses the cityXplorer maps like if it was just a City Navigator NT map.

    Default RE: EPN capabilities for nüvi 775T

    @aekhong

    I didn't say anything about "Pedestrian" mode, just mentioned "enhanced pedestrian navigation" mode. It's the column "Enhanced Pedestrian Navigation" in the picture below that I was referring to.
    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    The normal nüvi 775T is not listed as a EPN capable by Garmin. Maybe that can be changed by regional FW or modified/hacked FW.
    Normal pedestrian mode is of course available in most Garmin PND & PNA devices. If used with cityXplorer then the plain pedestrian mode will give the same routing as normal City Navigator NT maps.

    Code:

    Example of EPN description for the nüvi 3790T:
    Navigate City Transit

    With its enhanced pedestrian navigation capabilities and dual-oriented screen, nüvi 3790T is the perfect travel companion for getting around town. Download optional cityXplorer™ content to help you navigate the big city. In addition to knowing where to walk, where to catch the bus, subway, tram or other transportation you’ll also have access to mass transit schedules and estimated travel time to your destination. cityXplorer maps are available for select cities throughout North America and Europe. And with prices as low as $9.99, you'll have money left over to spend in the big city.
