Garmin knows about that, possible fix in MS 6.16, but not sure
I loaded the Iceland Topo map ... no problem, appears in Mapsource and is autorouting. When I updated Mapsource from 6.13.7 to the current version it had the impact that the map widened and flattened ... effectively a Mercatour projection. For places near the equator the impact is negligable, but for high latitudes such as Scotland or Iceland it results in a very odd looking maps indeed.
I have checked all the setting options available and can find nothing that influences this appearance so I have reverted back to the earlier version on Mapsource. BUT ... the newer version has a number of advantages, and I would very much like to use it.
Any advice gratefully received

Did some more digging around on the Garmin forums ... it seems they introduced this feature in 6.14 and have not removed it despite many protests from the customer base.
A pity, since the 6.15.5 is visually more attractive than 6.13.7 ... but I cannot get used to the flattened appearance, which makes visual planning non-intuitive. So I will wait and hope ...
