Consumers are giving more importance to In-vehicle technology which is an important factor when purchasing a new vehicle
. According to research released by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). 42 percent of consumers surveyed say they intend to purchase an in-vehicle technology device or accessory - including car alarms, remote vehicle starters, in-dash car stereos and in-dash navigation systems - in the next 12 months.

However, only 54 percent of online Americans of driving age indicate they are satisfied with the technologies in their primary vehicles.

47 percent of consumers surveyed are interested in using apps designed for easier and safer use in-vehicle.

This result is consistent with another study from IDC Manufacturing Insight (read here) which shows that almost 50% of U.S. consumers consider it vital to have access to a phone in the vehicle, with about 40% considering it vital to access apps such as navigation and music while in the vehicle.
