Post What's your care about the most for purchasing a GPS Device ?

    I have a 3g gps device (gm36w) on my truck, a 2g device (gm02ew) on the sedan.
Truck is for when I am going to camp with friends or family, and rural area is best to have a strong signal device which is 3g because I analysed from the amazon market, the 3g probably is the latest signal format that these provides.
So for me, supporting signal is the top priority to pick the device, and incity area, 2g is pretty enough for my daily driving basis, less data cost, and it's cheap.

*Although LTE is popular, but too expensive for me, and for now, not so many gps support.

Here in OZ 2G and 3G are now discontinued as they have not been reliable networks "though 3G is still active it won't be long before it is disconnected for good.
Your services in Japan maybe excellent "except your hills 'mountains' maybe a problem" we here are running with 3G and 4G but Australia is a big place and I live in the Western side and phone reception is hard when you leave the big city.

So to answer your question, we here do not rely on phone networks for GPS navigation, most use Nav units when going outside the City limits.
Garmins/Tom Tom or any other unit that uses the GPS nat Satellites.

I think the most important is the device has stable platform to save a complete and clear driving history.

. it's pretty good so far.

I think it won't be a problem, as long as you know how to install on it.
