    Default Height restriction for HGVs

    Hello,

First of all I want to say Hello to everyone in here.
I was not aware of this forum until few hours ago, since then I have been reading, but so far no avail to what I need.
I've came to the UK few weeks ago and started working as an HGV Class 1 driver (Lorry driver) and since this is my first time driving lorries - I've never had a professional GPS.
Now, since money are low I bought a Hieha tablet with iGO (I believe it is Primo, not nextgen but cant see where it says that) and I have an issue. As I have no knowledge of the UK's road network, I am quite afraid of low bridges.
I have tested the navigation and it shows me weight and length restrictions, but it never showed me height restrictions.
I've tried setting the truck profile to some ludicrous heights (like 10m high) and when I pick an address it shows me that I have some weight and length restrictions, but that's all. I know there are bridges there that are way less than 10m tall, but more than 5m.
I have checked the folder and in MAPS there is a UK FTR file - United_Kingdom_HERE_2018.Q3_180918_(TI)
Also, I think the map might be a bit older.

I would really need help with updating my map with getting the proper height, length and weight restrictions and most importantly alerts, as I have to start working very soon and I do not know what to do.

Let me know what kind of information you need so I can solve my issue.

    Please help.

Also I know I have a misspelled nickname, but was too late when I saw it

    Kind regards,
    Viktor

    hello,

    ? hieha-Tab; thies is a old WinCE-Device?
i think, for Beginners better download Automapa EU
then read and learn iGO-Primo 2.4/-Nextgen for WinCE or better buy a 7-8 "Android Tablet and install Nextgen right away.

For a lot of Information and help you are always welcome here

WinCE Primo has perfect support for truck options, do not give up on him. For any software you use for such a purpose, you have to be well involved into the substance. You have to adjust it
So, read a little bit more posts on this Forum. Fresh maps and other material are well presented.

Thank you. I've been reading, but unfortunately, my device came today and in a few hours I'll have to be behind the wheel. Thus I am very limited from time in order to resolve my issue, as I do not know if the truck will be with GPS equipment, and at the moment I do not have the option to buy any professional GPS system.
Thus I have raised this thread in a hope of someone to provide me with a link or more detailed guide on how to update my map/ftr files.

Just remove old content and put new one
    Latest maps:

    latest global_cfg

    speedcams

Primo can not "see" fjw files, do not use them
Do not duplicate hnr files. That means, use eastern, or western, or full, but not two or all three.
Of course, ftr files are obligatory, truck poi recommended. And proper, carefully setup of software.
Any one you take/buy, you will have to adjust according to your truck, cargo and needs.

Thank you very much for that. Downloading the maps, will install them and try again. Hopefully that will resolve my issues

Okay, all seems to be good and working.
Unfortunately I cannot open the file with the speed cameras, it says I have entered the wrong password.
Any ideas if the person has changed their password?

Pass is ok, use latest WinRar or 7-zip to unpack:

P.S. Don't put all the speedcam files.
Use only those countries you will go through.

Hi - sorry to necro an 8 month old thread...

The company I work for has asked me to test an XGODY Sat Nav for them - I think it's the 704 (It's at work, so I can't get the exact model number right now). EDIT - It's the X4

Basically, they want it to scream at the driver if he is approaching a width, height, weight restriction, etc... based on the vehicle dimensions.

To start with I was getting sweet Fanny Adams, and despite entering vehicle dimensions that would set off any bridge alert (5.00m) and having several height restricted bridges to use for testing, the only thing it would warn about was speed cameras! - I had been through all the settings.

Then I stumbled across this thread.

I have made a backup of the existing files.

I have downloaded the files linked to above, and placed them where they needed to be on the SN - deleting the contents of any specific folder first.

Due to space restrictions, I limited the maps to Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and the UK.

Following all the instructions, and double-checking all the alert and vehicle dimension settings, I took it for a test.

Firstly, it correctly routed around the low bridges, despite them being a much more direct route - yay.

When ignoring the directions, it kept re-routing. Once on a collision course, it kept telling me to turn around - yay - but didn't say why - boo.

Only AFTER I had passed under the bridge did it flag up a warning stating that there was a restriction that conflicted with the set vehicle's dimensions.

How can I get that warning BEFORE it passes the restriction?
