    patch Astro/Alpha regional limitation patcher

This patcher removes the regional checks that disable the radio functionality in Astro 320, 430, 900 and Alpha 100.
The testers report some functions do not work in their collars when the patched firmware is installed. Anyway, this is better than nothing.

    Disclaimer.
The search and replace pattern used in this patch wasn't made by me, I've just borrowed it from somebody's early attempts to disable the regional checks, and put it inside a definitions file for BigBang's "Universal firmware patcher".
I won't provide any kind of support for this patcher, and I don't know anything about the firmwares for Astro/Alpha and their collars.

    Hi Alex,
I´m Christoph from germany and I´m happy, to find this Forum.
I downloaded this RRR patcher from your link, but I do not understand how to handle it, is there a "Manual" anywhere?
    Sorry to bother you....

    Christoph,

    Everything it pretty simple:
    1. Download a firmware for your device - it would most likely be a file with GCD extension or an archive with a compressed GCD file. For example, the latest firmware file for Astro 320 is Astro320_460.gcd.
    2. Start the patcher and open the GCD file in it, the patcher will make a new GCD file in with _Patched suffix in the same folder as the original file. In our example, the filename would be Astro320_460_Patched.gcd.
    3. Make sure you have a fresh set of batteries in your device. Connect the device to your computer, copy the patched GCD file to the device's internal disk into Garmin folder, and rename to gupdate.gcd.
    4. Next time you restart the device, it should install the firmware.

In case you already have the latest firmware installed in your device - in the example above, you have Astro 320 which runs the firmware 4.60 - to install the patched 4.60 you'll need to change its version first.
To do this enable "Adjust firmware version" checkbox in the patcher's window, change the value in the edit field to the right to 1, and then process the file.
After this, the patcher will change version 4.60 to 4.61, and the device will "think" it really makes a version upgrade.

Astro 220 has not any limitations in radio functionallity. You do not need to use this patch for Astro 220

    Hi Alex!
I bought a TT15 collar from U.S. and my Alpha 100 (which I bought from Finland) handheld won't find the collar at all. Is there any possibility to make changes to the collar, for example change it's software or firmware to make it change frequency, or is the only way to make them connect to change the firmware to the handheld? And will this patcher described abowe do the trick? Thanks already for advise.

Hallo I think that the firmware of software is not your ploblem. The problem is that the alpha 100 is us version and the collar is eu version. You must change the frequency of the colar to us version, or to change the alpha 100 to eu version.
I don't think that the frequency is inside the firmware.

Hallo, I make all the steps.
    4.60 firmware, and I created 4.60 patched.
I install to astro 320, I turn it on,
    And new software uploaded.
Everything OK, but when gps signal communicate the radio function disabled appear!!!!!

The 320 is us version and I am at Greece.
I downdate the machine to 3.20firmware.
    Now it is working again.
The pached firmware not working to my 320.
    Have I make any mistake???

    today I try the 4.30 patched.gcd
