Triangle Garm. Nuvi 265W Dead after Curing

    Hi All
I have a Garmin 265W that WAS doing the Garmin flash screen repeatedly on power up.
    Thankfully I found this site.
I tried the CURE provided by Kunix to make the GPS accessible via usb.
Unfortunately now the GPS is completely dead .
The PC will not recognise the usb connection at all.

Is there any way to force the GPS into communication!!!! I have tried a different usb cable and a different pc. I tried unplugging the battery for 5 mins...still lifeless. RMprepusb won't see it either.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Niall

Have you tried to hold power button down for 30 seconds. ?
Can you still get this Nuvi into pre-boot mode ?

Do you have full battery when you use cure tool?
Charge your nuvi over night and you will see if nuvi will turn on.

Hi and thanks for the replies.

I will try 30 seconds. I've only held the power button for maybe 10 seconds...so I'll try 30 secs.

I measured the voltage of the battery when I opened and disconnected it from the board. It measured approx 3.6v so I assume thats enough for a li-ion battery to run for a while. Not sure what the cut-off voltage for the power up of the Garmin is...maybe 3.2v??

Will I have to charge using the car charger? I have only tried charging with the usb connected to the pc.

    Thanks all

    N

Either will do. If you use the PC connect directly to a rear usb port and make sure it doesn't enter Sleep or Hibernation.

The unit will boot on 3.6v no problem usually.
