    unlocker Strange nuvi 2350 AU

    Hi all,
I've got a Nuvi 2350 and I want to enable some features but something is wrong with that device.

    Supported Features

    Part Number: 006-D1338-21
    Rev: 0A

    TTS Phonetics
    Junction View
    Lane Assist
    Traffic EULA
    Photo Nav
    ASR
    Historic Traffic
    Premium Point Addressing
    Bluetooth

As you can see Bluetooth and ASR are supported (shouldn't be for this model and, of course, they don't work/Bt icon is present in the menu) but no Speed Limits (should be). I found two *.gcd files and when I dragged them to RGN_Tool I got HWID: N/A. I tried to update firmware (software version 2.20 to 3.70) using Garmin Express and Web Updater but without any success. Both of them says, "it's up to date". For some reasons I had cleared all user's data and locked device. Somehow i unlocked device, wrote code and wanted to change lock code but no such option in the menu??? After clearing user's data again i tried to use the same code but it wasn't accepted. Lock code was randomly changed??? Ok, in the end I unlocked it again with other pin code (there is a just 10,000 combination lol). Does anybody has idea how to enable features since my HWID is N/A. Please don't advise to read this thread because I already did. Thanks.

No BT chip in 2350, you can enable features the icon will appear, but wont work as stated, for example, in Alviora's post in this thread [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
    BUT:
    Supported Features
    Part Number: 006-D1338-21
Does it come from your nuvi?
It doesn't look a 2350 but a 3490 BMW edition, but not sure.

?? What do you mean with 2 *.gcd files? Which .gcd and from where you got them??

I'm not able to understand these procedures you performed sorry.
Before enabling features or doing any modding try to understand what is your nuvi model and real HWID.
Does it work normally ? Have you done NV backup?

Please don't advise to read this thread because I already did.
If you have read starting post you should have done NV backup and you should know what is a HWID and what is your device HWID, so I wont advise.

AU nuvi 2350 HWID is 1187, same as US/EU. An extract from it's GarminDevice.xml:
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
This is the original supported_features.html from it:
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
In supported_features.html, the 'Part Number' is referring to the 'feature set', not the unit's HWID. Even when region 140 is modded to the max 'with the works', it's Part Number remained the same:
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
I'm unable to understand why pantel62's 2350 would have a supported_feature.html showing 'Part Number: 006-D1338-21 Rev: 0A', but regardless 1338 is not the unit's HWID.

    @pantel62
The Garmin Lock pin code doesn't 'randomly change' as you queried. What exactly did you do to clear the PIN? Regarding "HWID N/A", are you saying that your unit no longer displays its HWID at all? Where does it show "HWID N/A", or do you mean you didn't know how to find it?

First of all, I'd like to thank you Catymag and Neil, especially if you are positive that HWID is 1187.

I didn't buy nuvi 2350; I got it from friend who had found it in car (he works for used car dealership and that car came from auction). When I started device it showed "nuvi 2350", something about Telstra (forgot what exactly was written) and installed map (it was an old map, which I replaced with latest one - CN NZAU HERE 2016.10).

Yes, I know 2350 hasn't BT chip (I've read manual) and that's why I was surprised finding BT icon in the menu. Since this nuvi had an old map (2013) I doubt that previous owner had a knowledge how to mod it. I found features here: System\Diag\html\supported_features.html

The only two *,gcd files (006B125700.gcd whith date 01/11/2012 and 006B090100.GCD 02/06/2013) I found here: System\RemoteSW\*.*

Ok, it was very confusing described by me. I did "clean users data" (it's not really important why I did it) and when nuvi started it asked me to enter 4 digit PIN. Since I didn't know it I started from 0000 and 5486 unlocked my Garmin. I wrote down that number and wanted to change PIN but Garmin Lock menu just don't exist (Tools/Settings/System/Garmin Lock). After a couple days I did "clean users data" once more counting I know PIN (5486) but it didn't unlock my garmin so I started again from scratch and unlocked device with 1150??? If the PIN hasn't been randomly changed I really don't know what's happened.

    @Neil
It's obvious that I don't know how to find HWID. Reading tread I was thinking that the only way to find HWID is dragging gcd file into RGN_Tool. As a result I got HWID N/A. If exists another way to find HWID, please tell me. Without it I can't do neither NV backup nor enabling fitures.

    Thanks in advance

Open garmindevice.xml you find in Garmin folder. You will read something like:

OK, all's now clear. That unit is a hire car model running custom firmware. The pin is not the normal Garmin Lock which is why you're unable to find it in the settings menu.

To locate the HWID [and it won't be 1187 i'll bet], either do one or both of these: (i) As said above by Caty; or (ii) From the main screen 'Where To?/Map', press and hold the battery symbol [top RH crn] for several seconds to enter a hidden menu, then press Next>Start Test>More to show Inventory page. The HWID will be displayed in the first three entries as BXXXX-xx after Boot BLK, X-Loader and System. Press 'Back' and note the number in the 2nd line following PCB P/N. It'll be 105-xxxxx-xx format.

Please browse the unit in MSM to see if there is a gupdate.gcd file in .System. If so, please don't delete it, make a backup of it and remove it from the unit. Upload it to a host site as a .rar or zip file, post the link here and tell us the HWID and PCB P/N, then we'll proceed from there. I'm fairly sure we can fix this unit so that it's usable without it 'self-locking' periodically.

    From GarminDevice.xml:

    <PartNumber>006-B1398-00</PartNumber>
    <SoftwareVersion>220</SoftwareVersion>
    <Description>nüvi 2350</Description>

So, HWID is 1398. I'll try rest tomorrow 'cos my wife would kill me if I don't come to bed (here is 23:30). Thank you guys...

NUP! Sorry, no cigar. That's the standard US/EU V3.70 firmware for HWID 1187. The gupdate.gcd i was hoping you'd find is the one in the unit's .System folder when you bought it, not one that you'd placed there yourself. I don't suppose there was one there in any case, but can you confirm that please? If it was in there, please post it.

Some good news, that PCB P/N is present in US/EU firmware.
