Default Alternative firmware fo kenwood dnx520vbt

    Hi men
I have a kenwood dnx520vbt that is the same of kenwood dnx5260bt.
In the system there is a garmin unit that the service menu declare pcb 13xx v4 and I think is a nuvi 13xx.
The software don't have any enanchement from garmin and we don't have lane assist never JCV or 3d
I already test that the software of dnx7260bt that have the enanchment dont work . "SYSTEM MISSING".
I used the boot.bin of my unit and fw_all.bin e pk_file66.zip of the 7260 unit. Now I check if there is the way to use nuvi firmware
but I see difference in the structure of the firmware because there is fw_resources.bin instead of pk_files66.zip
    So any help is appreciated
    Thank's

Plausible, would say the "Myth Busters". I have seen configurational xml for nuvi 13xx for suzuki (one of the many firmware secrets) with which it seems...many things can be additionaly configured. (not very sure how can this be achived though. Experts better to say.) May idea is that maybe you should thing in that direction rather than playing with the FW. BTW from where can the dnx520vbt FW be downloaded?

Yes, this firmware is very similar to 13xx HWID=972. But there is a difference, i.e. 13xx's firmware loads GIR (pictures, icons, etc.) from region 0x7F (fw_resources1.bin) while dnx520vbt's firmware loads it from 0:/Garmin/img_rsrc.gir.

So, instead of trying to randomly flash unrelated firmwares you can try a well-known way developed for 13xx from this thread: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
In particular, you can try the following post: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

After unpacking the archive to an SD card (I hope this device have an SD slot??), copy SD:/Updater/0972/ to SD:/Updater/1083/ and replace SD:/Updater/1083/ldr.bin with boot.bin from dnx520vbt's firmware, then insert the SD card to the device and restart it. When the update is finished, SD:/Updater/1083/update.log (post it here, please) and SD:/garmin/backup/16_BKP.bin (back it up and don't lose) should appear.

What do you know about WinCE? Do you know what's astlog.exe and if WinCE could save crashlog somewhere?

    Hi
    just do it
    this is the log:

    AVN2.1 Software Version 2.50, UID: <removed>, HWID: 0
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Parsing "rrgn,16,1:/garmin/backup/16_BKP.bin"
    Success
    Parsing "xrgn,16,1:/garmin/1xxx/16.bin"
    Error
    Parsing "reboot"
    Success

Then for wince I write some software but I never use astlog.
Normaly in the image used for debug enable the error reporting .
Then when there is a problem you have the exception report

    @jpnos

    If you have Parsing "rrgn,16,1:/garmin/backup/16_BKP.bin"
    Success

Please look in folder backup on your SD if you have there 16_BKP.bin and upload it here.

What is the size of SD:/garmin/backup/16_BKP.bin? Was it created at all?

it is 1024 kb but i have difficult to send the file zipped there is a firewall in my connection
So I'don't put the 16.bin for testing if it is right for my system
I checked the command in the updater.txt
Do you think there are problem if i test to send the 16.bin ?
